God of War: Origins Collection on PS3
Posted by EdEN in G, God of War Ghost of Sparta, Media, PS3, PS3 software, PSP, PSP Go on August 12th, 2011

Remember when we got the GoW Collection a while back and we were very happy about playing the original PS2 releases in HD and 60 fps on our PS3 WITH trophy support? Well, now it’s time for the PORTABLE God of War games to get the same treatment!
First we have a video showing us how different things really are when porting a PSP game into a PS3 engine:
Gears of War on PS3 eventually, says analyst
Posted by NunoDavesh in G, PS3, Xbox 360 on September 13th, 2009

Analyst heavyweight Michael Patcher is at his crystal ball again, this time dishing out the controversial prediction that Epic’s Gears of War series will come to PlayStation 3… eventually.
Speaking to Game Trailers, Patcher pointed out that Epic is no stranger when it comes to the PlayStation 3 hardware, “we pretty much know that Gears of War 3 is probably gonna’ come out on PS3.”
The reasoning behind Mr. P’s prediction is that Microsoft probably has a two game deal to keep the first inevitable Gears of War sequel Xbox 360 exclusive, but after that Epic’s free to put it on whichever console it likes.
It’d be a big stir up if Gears 2 ended up on PS3, but will anyone really care by the time the third one comes out?
Just like GTA and Resident Evil before, we reckon Gears would’ve spent most of its worth by the time it goes multiplatform.
Splitscreen racing for GT 5 Prologue
Posted by Blackstaffer in G, PS3 software on March 6th, 2008

I wasn’t even considering getting GT 5 Prologue for my PS3 until today. Now… I am! Considering it, that is. Because the game has splitscreen! (I’m not going to complain that it’s two-player only, because GT has never had four-player splitscreen, unfortunately.) This game has more cars than I could ever care for, but only six tracks. For $40. Hmmm. Still a decision to make.
April 17th will bring these features to the North American version of the game:
- Drift Mode
The player’s drifting technique is measured based on drift angles, racing lines, and speeds within evaluation zones located at various turns on the course. - In Depth Car Tuning
Players have the ability to adjust the vehicle’s performance, including power, weight, tires and suspension. - Two-player Split Screen Racing
Allows players to race head-to-head against friends and foes offline. - New Race Events
New racing events and time trials are available for players to race both offline and online. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue supports up to 16 players racing online simultaneously.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider

Golden Who: Beast What?
I have to admit that I’ve never heard of the original, and this is the first time I’ve heard of Golden Axe: Beast Rider. It seems to involve some golden axes and riding of beasts.
But anyway, check out the link below for basic preliminary screens for this title coming to the PS3 this summer.
GT5 Prologue Price and Date
Posted by Blackstaffer in G, PS3 software on January 29th, 2008
From the official PlayStation site:
It’s official – SCEA announced today the April 17 North American ship date for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, available exclusively for PS3. Developed by famed Polyphony Digital, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available for $39.99 on Blu-ray Disc (BD) and as a download via the PLAYSTATION Store.
The BD version will offer added value with an exclusive behind-the-scenes High Definition (HD) video feature called “Beyond the Apex”. This video will offer some awesome access to the folks at Polyphony and give some background on how they are able to create such a realistic and beautiful driving simulator.
So there you go all you GT5 officianados. Less than three months to go. Though I have to say that I think $40 is a bit steep for what is really a glorified demo.
