In their latest episode, GamerTV gives Lair 3/5 mostly, it seems, because of missions that are lacking in creativity, and the total lack of any multiplayer. Other than that, they seemed to like it. If you’re at all interested in TimeSplitters 4, you might want to check out the video because there’s some footage of the game. Plus there’s a tiny tiny tiny little bit on Haze.
Haze will be coming exclusively to PS3 in November. It was designed to be a multiplayer experience from the very start.
Here are a few skills you can use to kill your enemies. Trooper Overdose, Trap aka land mine, Nectar grenade, Nectar knife, Nectar pack shot (he’ll overdose and got nuts on his teammates, I like the sound of that), play dead and weapon steal (sounds very fun). I can’t think of a game that allows you to steal your opponents weapon in multiplayer
Not sure if I’ll get this, there are so many good games coming out in fall / winter. I only have so much money, lol. But it looks like a good game. Click the link below for the rest of the skills screenshots.
It consists of about three and a half hours of music, 4,500 lines of dialogue. They’ll be plenty of cut scenes as well, a hour and a half’s worth in eleven languages! I was really impressed by the cut scenes in the demo alone, very lifelike and fun to watch. Hopefully you’ll be able to watch all the cut scenes alone once you beat the game.
Good thing they have Blu-ray to put all that audio on. I like how they have all the different languages to choose from as well. Easier to release the game worldwide. Hopefully more games take this approach in the future.
Heard About: Heavenly Sword
And here is 5 minutes of gameplay footage
You may not find this surprising but they love it. Maybe I’m being over critical but there is no mention of whether the screen tearing that was present in the demo has been fixed and how steady the framerate is. Is there any slowdown? What about other graphical failings? What about extras? How many difficulty levels are there? Can you unlock extra moves/special costumes/weapons if you complete the game on the harder difficulty levels?
OK, so a lot of that isn’t really that important but I’d like to know more about the game before I spend £40 on it, which I’m probably going to as I enjoyed the demo a lot.
It will be interesting to see what other sites have to say about the finished game. People can have a go at ThreeSpeech for being biased but the same can be said about most gaming sites nowadays, in one form or another.
N4G has a video of another Haze developer diary. It’s cool because they even show some four-player splitscreen action for a moment!
With all the other great games coming out this fall, especially Call of Duty 4, Haze might get lost in the shuffle. I hope it doesn’t, because it looks like it’s shaping up to be a truly different first person shooter.
