LittleBigPlanet “Confirmed for September”
According to C&VG, LittleBigPlanet won’t be out until the Autumn:
Sony has confirmed with us this morning that LittleBigPlanet will be out in September.
An autumn release date for the quirky PS3 game was hinted at yesterday, when producer Kyle Shubel spoke about the 2008 timeline for the title in a demonstration at CES in Las Vegas.
A LittleBigPlanet demo was expected toward the end of 2007 but failed to materialise. A rep from Sony UK had no further news on a release date for the demo at this time.
Sponge is now Fluff
Posted by Blackstaffer in L, PS3 software on January 7th, 2008

The rumours I’ve been hearing of late push LittleBigPlanet to a late 2008 release. That’s a year after we were originally supposed to get a public demo, so that’s just a tad bit really disappointing.
But the game seems to be coming along.
They’ve named the little characters Sackboys and now they can move forward and back, not just side to side. And the currency, Sponge, has been renamed to Fluff in order to allow a wider range of appearance, apparantly.
On the whole, there hasn’t been much new about this game. I wish it would come out sooner rather than later, however.

This video features a new level. I’m still amazed how much you can customize in LitleBigPlanet, this game is going to be huge next year!
LittleBigPlanet TGS 07 Character Creation Video
Posted by Blackstaffer in L, PS3 software on October 2nd, 2007
Here’s a video showing some character creation stuff in LittleBigPlanet for the PLAYSTATION 3. There’s not a lot new here except for (a) the backdrop, and (b) the emotions they show on the characters near the end, which are funny.
LittleBigPlanet and Scoring
Posted by Blackstaffer in L, PS3 software on September 19th, 2007
Here’s a video that shows the same LittleBigPlanet level we’ve seen before (with some minor changes), but with scoring at the end. Unfortunately, not much is revealed about how the scores are reached.
And for more information about LittleBigPlanet, including the revelation of the “pod”, check out IGN’s impressions of LittleBigPlanet at TGS.
LocoRoco Screensaver Next Week
Posted by Tosh in L, PLAYSTATION Store, PS3 software, ZGame Profiles on September 12th, 2007
LocoRoco Cocoreccho will arrive next week for £1.99 which is about $4. The reason it’s so cheap is because it’s not a full game really, just a interactive screensaver. You control the game with the Sixaxis tilt function, it works basically the same as the PSP version though. I’ll be buying it
Lair PSP Remote Play is just the start
Posted by Tosh in L, PS3, PS3 software, ZGame Profiles on September 10th, 2007
Now I don’t have Lair, so I haven’t been able to test it out yet. But what a nice feature. Obviously you’ll need a decent connection to use remote play effectively. It wouldn’t work well for fighting games or FPS because of the lag at times. But it would be great for other games that don’t need twitch reflexes. Then there is the issue of the missing analog stick and the second shoulder buttons. But as long as they could modify it for PSP use, it should be fine.

Right now I use remote play on Thursdays when the PlayStation Store updates are out to download the new stuff from work. But I think it has huge potential. For example, another recent update to remote play is the ability to access Folding@Home via remote play. Once Sony showed us the option of having the PSP as a rear view mirror in racing games, which is boring if you ask me. How about controlling the MKII with your PSP to scout out the area in MGS4. That would be fun
GamerTV Looks at Lair, TimeSplitters 4
Posted by Blackstaffer in H, L, PS3 software, T on August 20th, 2007
In their latest episode, GamerTV gives Lair 3/5 mostly, it seems, because of missions that are lacking in creativity, and the total lack of any multiplayer. Other than that, they seemed to like it. If you’re at all interested in TimeSplitters 4, you might want to check out the video because there’s some footage of the game. Plus there’s a tiny tiny tiny little bit on Haze.
