LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga

As much as I find the recent 3 Star Bores films boring, I had a lot of fun playing LEGO Star Wars on the PS2. Now, Travellers Tales are working on a new LEGO Star Wars game for the PS3, 360, Wii and DS, due for release this November. The Complete Saga will cover all 6 films and is set to be the biggest game yet:

There’ll be more than 160 characters to choose from, which will also be customisable, letting you swap torsos and heads to create your own hybrids. New levels will be introduced, on top of revamped or unseen challenges from the previous games. And you’ll be able to relish more Force Powers, use fresh power-ups, and tackle a new Challenge mode.

But the biggest addition will be two-player jump-in cooperative gameplay over the Internet on PS3 and Xbox 360 – the first time online’s featured in the series.

WOOT!!! 2 player online co-op! Henning should be pleased with this news.

LittleBigPlanet Interview

LittleBigPlanet is definitely one of the hottest properties right now on the PS3. And almost nobody’s even played the game yet! So it was with interest that I saw an interview with one of the people behind LittleBigPlanet,

For example, here’s an interesting snippet:

The general consensus is that only a small proportion of consumers create content in spaces like these. How will you ensure that Little Big Planet isn’t over-run by freeloaders, and there is always new content for players to consume?

We will put in what people will expect for a game at the time that it launches. There will be a full game’s worth of Media Molecule levels and assets which users get to play with and to use as their building blocks. After the launch, once we start to see how the community goes, we can make content available for download very easily and very quickly. We can respond to a world event, like the Olympic games for example, and we may decide to do some cool sets for the community, or make country costumes. We might even build an Olympic village that the community can use to stage their Olympics in.

Follow the link for the full interview. You won’t be disappointed! :)

LittleBigPlanet Customization

LittleBigPlanet is one of the most anticipated titles for the PLAYSTATION 3. We’ve recently seen a cool character customization video, and now we get to see something else. A menu screen! Now don’t get all all excited – here it is (click to see larger version):

Friends. Messages. Creations. Shop. Sounds like this game will let you do all sorts of stuff besides just playing a level. And I have to wonder about that “Shop” menu. Do you buy additional things to put into your level creations? If so, does it cost real money? Or some kind of points that you earn playing the game. I naturally hope that it’s the latter.

Sony seems to be going for the more general gaming audience with games like this and SingStar. Hopefully it’ll help them get out of their sales slump.

SGD ’07: LittleBigPlanet

I really like the look of LittleBigPlanet and the video below shows off the type of character customisation that will be at your disposal when it’s released “just after Christmas”, with a demo available this Autumn:

I love the music. I love the look of the game and how cute…I mean vicious :x the characters look. The customisation seen in the video is just a taster of what should be available in the finished product. Great stuff and I can’t wait for the demo later this year!
