Bad Omen for Lair

Some early review scores:

EGM: 6.0, 5.5, 5.0 out of 10
Play: 9.0 out of 10
GAMEPRO: 3.75/5 (7.5 out of 10)

That’s not a good sign. That Play score is good, but I’ve never even heard of Play. I wouldn’t be surprised if that EGM score is a little low since they did give low scores to other big name PS3 exclusives such as Resistance and Motorstorm (85 and 75 respectively), but now I’m expecting a 7.5 game, where before I was expecting an 8.5+.

I’m honestly disappointed that this would score so much lower than Level 5’s Rogue Squadron games. The flight effects still look amazing and the orchestral soundtrack sounds spectacular. I wonder if there were some serious game flaws (in a similar vein to The Getaway).

Obviously, I’m still waiting on more review scores, and ultimately, my own actual impressions when I finally get the chance to play it.

Lair Dev Finished and Set for Aug 14th Release

That’s Aug 14th in North America but there’s still some localization to be done for Europe, Japan and Korea etc, so who knows when the rest of the worl will see it. No mention of a demo and the question was asked loads of times in the comments section on the blog. Maybe there isn’t going to be a demo.

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga

As much as I find the recent 3 Star Bores films boring, I had a lot of fun playing LEGO Star Wars on the PS2. Now, Travellers Tales are working on a new LEGO Star Wars game for the PS3, 360, Wii and DS, due for release this November. The Complete Saga will cover all 6 films and is set to be the biggest game yet:

There’ll be more than 160 characters to choose from, which will also be customisable, letting you swap torsos and heads to create your own hybrids. New levels will be introduced, on top of revamped or unseen challenges from the previous games. And you’ll be able to relish more Force Powers, use fresh power-ups, and tackle a new Challenge mode.

But the biggest addition will be two-player jump-in cooperative gameplay over the Internet on PS3 and Xbox 360 – the first time online’s featured in the series.

WOOT!!! 2 player online co-op! Henning should be pleased with this news.
