NFS: HP, Three New Content Packs Arriving Soon!

Not sure how many of you have picked this game up but it’s definitely one of my favorite Need for Speed games. I got this game around a month and a half ago and even though I haven’t put that much time into it, I like it a lot. The mechanics of the game as well as the music is really well put together. As soon as the game starts it gets the juices flowing, and it continues all through out the game. Anyone who is into the NFS games should really look into getting this, now that we have all that out of the way let’s get down to business.

On Feb 22nd

  • Armed & Dangerous brings two new online game modes and 3 achievements/trophies. “Most Wanted” is an open world battle where the cops are out to bust a specific racer whilst the racers battle to protect them. In “Arms Race” it’s every man for himself as racers use their full arsenal of weaponry on each other.
  • On March 1st

  • Lamborghini Untamed adds the legendary Lamborghini Diablo, Countach and Sesto Elemento as both cops and racers. There are also 10 new events and four new achievements/trophies.
  • On March 8th

  • Porsche Unleashed pack adds the Porsche 911 Turbo (1982 Edition), Porsche 959, and 911 Speedster as both cops and racers. You’ll also get 10 new events and four new achievements/trophies to collect.
  • Each pack is going to cost you $6.99, hopefully PS+ subs can get some kind of a discount on these. Check out the video after the jump:

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Game Night

Buckle up and get ready to race some of the most beautiful cars in the world … and then wreck them. It’s been a few weeks since the release of this beautiful game, and I think it’s high time we held a game night to see who’s the top dog. The game night will be Saturday, December 11th at 6pm PST (That’s pacific time, west coast). I will be hosting the night, so between now and the 11th, add me to your PSN list. My PSNID is Baba0Booey, that’s the number zero between baba and booey.

The first night for NFS:HP will be a pursuit night, so cops chasing speeders obviously, and I talked to Jay, and he was nice enough to let me offer some bonus points, so on top of the points you earn for attending the game night, I am going to offer the following: 50 points for the cop that has the most busts for the night, 50 points for the speeder with the most cop takedowns, and finally, 50 points for the speeder who avoids being busted the most for the night. That means crossing the finish line without being busted. But for the bonus points, I’ll need at least 6 people attending to make it fair

So make sure you have a fresh set of tires and a clean racing suit, because things could get nasty. See you next Saturday!

Need for Speed – Hot Pursuit Demo hits 2 Million downloads

Electronic arts announced that in the first two weeks that the demo was released, it was downloaded over 2 million times, breaking the previous record for any NFS game. To make things even more interesting, this represented 700, 000 Speed Wall posts, 5 million Autolog recommendations, 54 million miles raced and over 20 million cop busts!

Have any of you tried the demo ? How do you like it ? I’m buying my copy next week for sure.  Originally played the hot pursuit franchise on PC using my keyboard to drive and it was fantastic. Now that we can actually be the cops and set traps is a nice bonus. Also really interested with how the multiplayer will play out.

If you haven’t tried it, you’ll have to wait until the game is released, as the servers were brought down (most likely to reset the servers and be sure they are ready for launch).
