Rage Demo Coming to the PSN; Rage on Sale for $29.99 on Black Friday

Bethesda has announced that a RAGE demo will be available on December 6th on the PSN. The press release stated:
The Ghost Clan, a cult of murderous fanatics, has infiltrated the waterworks beneath the town of Wellspring with plans to poison the water supply. You are the only one with the weapons, talent and courage to stop them. While in Wellspring, you can also meet the townsfolk, try your hand in games of skill and chance, peruse the wares of the local vendors or hit the Speedway for some racing.
So it looks like there will be one pretty good mission, as well as a chance at walking around the town and even a race to demo. This should give you a good feel for this great game. If you’d like to read more about the game, check out my review of Rage here.
Also, if you don’t want to wait, I’d suggest picking up RAGE on Black Friday, because it will be for a sale price of $29.99 at GameStop and other select retailers. Trust me, once you play the demo, you’ll regret not picking it up while it was on sale.
[Review] Rage

When Bethesda and id Software, revealed the game Rage, everyone, including myself, was thinking or hoping, that this would be the next Borderlands or Fallout. Well, it does share some similarities to both, however it is unlike them as well.
Check out this video, then hit the jump for my take on this great game.

In this video, the Resistance has heard rumors of an Ark surfacing in Jackal Valley, and they need you to search the site for a valuable data decrypter. Finding it won’t be easy as the valley is home to one of the Wastelands most brutal factions, the savage Jackal Clan.
RAGE releases next week in North America on Tuesday, October 4th (October 7th in Europe).

How Big is RAGE?
Posted by Cheeto in PS3, PS3 software, QuickNews, RAGE on September 26th, 2011

As shocking as it might sound, RAGE will actually take up to 8GB of your PS3 hard drive! id Software revealed in an interview for Eurogamer that Rage will require an 8GB install, an enormous install we haven’t seen since Gran Turismo 5, while the Xbox 360 version is settled for a 3 disc release (which can, in theory, be installed to the HDD… with all of it’s 22 GBs of data).
New Rage Trailer Show off Co-op Mode
Bethesda released a new RAGE gameplay video – ‘Wasteland Legends: Water Service’. Get the first look at RAGE’s co-op mode as the Shrouded clan come to Wellspring to destroy the town’s water supply and two warriors join forces to fight off the invasion. It’s up to a duo of heroes to disarm bombs, take out bandits and save the town once again.
I somehow had overlooked that there would be co-op in Rage, but this adds to my excitement for the game.
Rage is scheduled for an October 4th release.
Rage Behind the Scenes Part 6 of 6
I’m not sure how I missed this one a couple weeks ago, but here is the final video in the six part behind-the-scenes series for RAGE. “In “The Sound and Art,” take a look at the sound design of RAGE with the team at id Software to find out how music, sound effects and voice acting come together to create an unforgettable, immersive experience.”
RAGE features intense first-person shooter action, breakneck vehicle combat, an expansive world to explore and jaw-dropping graphics powered by id’s revolutionary id Tech™ 5 technology. Set in the not-too-distant future after an asteroid impacts Earth, you emerge into a vast wasteland to discover humanity working to rebuild itself against such forces as bandit gangs, mutants, and more. RAGE promises an experience like no other.
RAGE is slated for release on October 4th, 2011.
[RAGE] First-Time Buyer Incentive!
Posted by Cheeto in PS3, PS3 software, PSN, RAGE on August 11th, 2011
In an interview for Eurogamer, Rage creative director Tim Willits spoke of locking out some single-player content for people who bought the game used:
We have the first-time buyer stuff with all the sewers hatches, If you bought the game new, that would be open for you. You still have to download it, but you don’t have to pay for it. Those hatches are all over. Most people never find them. But as soon as you do, you’re like, oh. And then you start to look for it. That’s our first-time buyer incentive.
In simple words, Rage will not require an online Pass to unlock the multiplayer mode (that would be a code that comes with new copies, or bought online for a fee). Instead, used copies of Rage will lock some sewers hatches in the single-player campaign which are the paths needed to enter new missions in the campaign and a “thank you” to players who bought a new copy of Rage!
Rage is set to launch on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 4 2011.
