[Giveaway] Retro City Rampage

Win Retro City Rampage

After having so much fun reviewing Retro City Rampage, it seemed only fair to try and get you guys a chance to own the game. One man army Brian Provinciano of Vblank Entertainment has provided me with two codes for Retro City Rampage, and I have decided to contribute to the pot as well by adding codes for Bandcamp so that the winners can download the awesome soundtrack for the game! Tickets are 100 points a piece, and you can get 10 of them, minus the social entries. Giveaway ends Sunday, February 17 at 11:59PM PST. Good luck!

And remember: by redeeming a code for Retro City Rampage, you’ll be getting the PS3 AND the Vita versions thanks to this game being one of those that feature Crossbuy!

UPDATE: I’ve added a couple of extra codes JUST for the soundtrack to the total number of prizes to win! If you already own the game, now you can enter to get free copy of the awesome chiptune soundtrack! If that is the case, please leave a comment stating you already own RCR so I can speed up the process of sending everyone their codes in the order I pick the random winners.

It’s also worth noting that a couple things have been updated in the PS Store navigation. We’ve incorporated some of your feedback and you can now filter Add-ons by game title and the Weekly Deals section has been placed more prominently. We hope these changes will help you find what you’re looking for.

Some decent titles. Long time members of PSN Plus will already have Simpsons The Arcade Game, showing what is in my opinion one of the more minor annoyances with the membership. We’ll lose the game after our subscription expires and there’s no way to participate in this sale if we’re really big fans of the arcade port (which is actually quite excellent if you haven’t tried it).

Journey is an interesting choice though I still recommend you save your money and buy the triple game collector’s edition that includes Fl0w and Flower. Pacman DX was a fantastic title that holds up even now. I haven’t heard similar praise for it’s brother in DX arms Galaga Legions. Still the demo was fun and it’s likely the only game I’ll be picking up this week. As I already own Duke Nukem ($2.50 in stores) and Metal Gear Solid Trilogy HD ($1.00 Door Buster). Quest for Booty is a great game and if I didn’t already have it on my UK account from the PSN Blackout I’d happily pick it up for $8. It’s short, it’s a touch linear, but it looks fantastic, controls great, and wasn’t over priced.

Are there any titles you plan to pick up or would like to suggest? How was Papa & Yo. The demo was interesting but not quite compelling enough to make me bite at $8 with my backlog. Care to try to convince me otherwise?

After a Long Wait, Retro City Rampage Will Be on PSN Tomorrow

Ah, the 8-bit glory days. Pixels. Chiptunes. All that magic. We brought news of this back in February, when we stated that the game would be made available in May. Well, a few months down the road, and nothing. Until now.

Retro City Rampage promises that the game will pay homage to a number of classics, set in an early GTA-esque open world. 60 story missions, 40 arcade challenges, over 25 weapons and 50 vehicles, and about 2 and a half hours of music. All for $14.99. One thing that might draw a lot of attention for those with a Vita is that the game is also cross-save and cross-buy between the PS3 and the Vita. BONUS!
