Here is the first in a series of “Making Of” videos for Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes’ Risen 2: Dark Waters:
In this first episode, developer Piranha Bytes talks about the creation of Risen 2′s worlds and the inspiration behind a pirate focused RPG adventure.
This game is shaping up to look very good, and I can’t wait to see more. Gothic 1 and 2 were both very good, and hopefully Piranha Byte’s has just improved on those games.

Ahoy scurvy dawgs!
Deep Silver has just published a new trailer with what appears to be in-game footage of the upcoming pirate RPG Risen 2: Dark Waters. It also gives a little explanation on what’s going on at the world and what’s the story all about.
You can check out the Official Risen 2 Youtube Channel for the debut cinematic trailer as well and you should keep an eye out for more every so often.
Well, the winds seem to be blowing this game in the right direction and I can’t wait to see more!

Risen 2: Dark Waters Revealed and This One’s Coming to the PS3

Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes officially revealed their new game Risen 2: Dark Waters this morning. This sequel to the 2007 Risen has been much anticipated by RPG fans everywhere since its announcement last year at Gamescom. Risen 2: Dark Waters will be another 3rd person RPG, that will have a Pirate theme. I expect to see lots of ship and water involvement in this one. This will be the German based Piranha Bytes first game for the PS3, which is known by RPG fans as the creators of Gothic 1, 2, and 3, as well as Risen. (The most recent Gothic game, ArcaniA, was developed by Spellbound.)
I never got to play Risen, but I did play Gothic 2 and 3, and they have been some of my favorite RPGs ever. I’m really looking forward to this one and will keep you informed with any new info as soon as we get it.
