SSX Goes Retro with Tricky Trailer

EA Sports has released a new trailer for their upcoming game SSX (previously SSX: Deadly Descents) featuring a remixed version of “It’s Tricky” by Run D.M.C. There is no word on whether the song will be in the game, but the trailer is a throwback to SSX Tricky, an earlier title in the series.

SSX was originally being marketed as a grittier version of the past games, but with this video, it seems EA Sports is finally showing fans the humorous and over the top gameplay that they have been accustomed to.

SSX Is Back!

Back in the day, SSX was the best snowboarding game available for the PS2, with SSX Tricky being the highlight of the series in my opinion. During the VGAs, EA showed off the following teaser trailer for the newest installment of the franchise, SSX: Deadly Descents.

Redefining the SSX franchise, SSX: Deadly Descents will pit riders versus both mountain and man. Players will explore the story of a team who seek to be the first to descend the faces of the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet. The team will travel the world to face the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them. In SSX: Deadly Descents the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it.

I loved SSX, so I’m hoping that Deadly Descents returns the franchise to its former glory. No specific date or platform has been revealed.
