The movie poster came from the Warner Bros. site, keep an eye on that page for any updates. I’m not getting my hopes up for this movie though, but I will see it. There has been so many bad video game movies. The Tekken Anime was ok I guess. The people they picked for the roles fit the characters pretty well though. The movie will be released in Japan, March 2010.
Based on the long running and highly successful Namco video game franchise of the same name, TEKKEN is a high-octane, action packed thriller written for the screen by Alan McElroy (Spawn, The Marine) and to be directed by Dwight Little (Anacondas, Murder at 1600) with fight choreography tentatively by Dion Lam (Spider-Man 2, Doom, Red Cliff).
Set in 2039, the film promises non-stop high flying action as the greatest fighters from around the world come to compete in the last and greatest sporting event of all time, the Fist Tournament. After World Wars destroy much of civilization as we know it, the remaining territories are no longer run by governments, but by corporations the mightiest of which is Tekken. This is a pretty informative series. I’ve been playing Tekken since Tekken 1 was in the arcades. Ah, good times. Anyway, there where some things I’ve forgot about and I learned a few new things as well. It’s worth watching if your new to the series or a veteran Tekken player.
I’m looking forward to the next Episode
Hi everyone, this is Rip and I am here today to officially unveil our new webseries, Level Up Your Game! This is a new video series aimed to help get new players up to speed quicker with the game and provide insight for/from veteran players regarding each of the characters in the game. In this first episode we cover the very basics of the game, but as we move on through the series we’re going to bring in guests and cover each of the characters in depth.
For those that are having issues with the online portion of Tekken 6, a update is coming to fix those issues. Last time I played it was fine, no lag really. But I know it’s been hit and miss for a lot of people. No word on when this patch will be released just yet.
To improve the online game experience for players of TEKKEN® 6, NAMCO BANDAI Games is developing a downloadable update which will be available as soon as it has passed rigorous testing procedures.
More details regarding the content of the update and the timing of its release will be announced shortly.
This is separate from the online co-op Scenario Campaign mode update which is scheduled for release this winter.
Thanks for playing TEKKEN 6, and keep on fighting.
Me and my friends (Matt on the left, Ty on the right) showed up around 10 p.m. Luckily we brought something to entertain us. Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection on the PSP. We had local ad-hoc battles while we waited. Sorry for the low res photos, didn’t want to bring my nice camera so I just used my cell phone.
We are all pretty evenly matched in terms of Tekken skills. So that makes it fun to battle each other. Funny quote my friend made “I like to pretend I can fight using a video game”.
Sometimes we grew desperate and tried to open the locked door, as shown above.
