The Payne is back! Max Payne 3 is FINALLY going to retail this week after doing the “release date” shuffle for a while. But this week also has the first Game of Thrones Videogame! Did you pre-order your copy to secure the free HC artbook that will be made available on ebay for $100 later this week?
The Playstation Network will play host to Pixeljunk 4am, a game so trippy it made almost all other Pixeljunk games drop to the floor with their prices! Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II is also coming down for the party, and Sonic and Tails are ready to run with the flow for as long as possible. We also get Rock of Ages, a game so crazy that it must be fun as well! Jam Live Music Arcade also seems like an interesting take on the rhythm/music genre since you can actually mix all available songs on the go, creating a unique experience every single time.

April has decided it is time to say goodbye, and is opening the door for May to wreak havoc on our wallets.
As was the case last week, there is only one PS3 retail release, but it is joined by one Vita upgraded port of a former PS3 game.
The PS2 Classic series has two new releases, and Awesomenauts might/might not release this week since the publisher just filed for bankruptcy (why they didn’t wait until AFTER the game released, I do not know). Let’s not forget that Awesomenauts is set to be free for all PS+ subscribers, so I do hope things are sorted out.
To round things up, we also have one minis release (Floating Cloud God Saves The Pilgrims), which basically means that the PSOne Classics label is the only one not invited to the party this time around… what? Legend of Dragoon is releasing this week as well? Ok, forget all other releases, buy Legend of Dragoon the second after the store updates!
Full list of releases, after the break!
Shienryu is a classic vertical-scrolling Arcade shoot’em-up that was faithfully translated to the Playstation with good flair and fun back in 1999.
You’re captain of a sleek space craft out to defend the planet against a horrific enemy. The game can be flown alone or with a friend for added power (and laughs!). You’ll face off against towering alien mechs and endure a bedlam of bullets that will test your steel.
Warashi developed the game with stunning arcade graphics and gave intricate detail, which makes this shooter a wonderful play even to this day. The amount of particles on the screen and their effects in the background as they fall to the ground is superbly displayed. The variety of power ups and weapons give the game much diversity and increase its longevity.
Shienryu one of those great shooters you go to again and again cause its so much fun to shoot the living piss out of every mech coming at you. If you don’t laugh as you blast the Red Octopus boss in stage 3, then you really should have your humor bone honed. It’s a game that will surely keep your fingers tapping and your heart racing. A brilliant arcade classic.
How slow of a week is this going to be for new game releases? Just Dance 3 and The Adventures of Tintin slow. Not saying that those two games aren’t fun (who doesn’t like to shake their groove thing OR chase around a cute dog to solve a mystery or two?) but after 2 weeks with a LOT of releases (and one so-so last week)… well, I guess we HAD To run out of new games, right?
PSOne Classic Final Fantasy VI is FINALLY released on PSN. Well, it’s not really a PSOne Classic per se. It’s a port of a classic SNES game that was re-released on a PSX disc a while ago so maybe we can say it’s a classic case of the porting blues?
Anyway, full (but not so full) list of all releases (and I do mean all) after the break.
