Releases for the Week (January 9th-15th)
Posted by EdEN in minis, PLAYSTATION Store, PS3, PS3 software, PSN, PSP, PSP Go on January 8th, 2012
The year has finally begun! Wait, what? It started last week? Mmm, no one told Sony about it! Anyway, here’s the update on the releases you’ll be able to enjoy this week. After the onslaught of holiday releases, things are definitely off to a slow start.
We get two digital releases for previously retail-only games, two PSN games, one minis and one PSOne classic. The minis is what I look forward to this week since Mecho Wars for consoles has been something I’ve wanted since the game was announced. For those Nintendo+Sony fans out there, the easy way to explain this is Advance Wars set in a new universe. An universe with an interesting art direction.
Are you buying anything this week?

[Giveaway] Orbit (minis)

I got to review Orbit riiiiiight before the year was over (you can read the review over here), and here’s a preview of said review: “a great game from Laughing Jackal that keeps their streak going. Easy to play either on your PS3 or your PSP and a fun experience from a game that is hard to stop playing!”
Now, thanks to Laughing Jackal, we’ve got FIVE download codes for Orbit that you can win! You know the drill, but just to be extra sure, here’s a fresh set of instructions and rules. Ticket cost for this (minis) giveaway is only 75 points so be sure to enter!
[Review] Orbit (minis)

Oh no! The Space Program is in peril now there’s NO MONEY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!! That won’t stop two scientists from taking on the Orbit project, a no-budget exploration of our solar system.
Dodge through asteroid fields, and avoid nasty enemies intent on stealing cash, fuel, or just throwing slime in your eyes!
By collecting the money mysteriously floating in orbit around the planets, you’ll give the project a cash boost, upgrading shonky systems and gaining new ships to move beyond the Moon – from Mercury to Uranus – as never before!
Orbit’s research menu features almost 200 unique upgrades, plus there are hidden relics and blueprints to find, stat tracking, and 12 challenging medals to earn.
The launch pad is all set. Are you ready to get into Orbit?
Huge Savings Part 2: PSN Store Edition

There’s a LOT of content on sale right now at the PSN store. So much that I’ve had to place it all after the break AND in quotes to really make the list pop-out. My PS3 is set to be back by friday morning and I’ll be getting the L.A. Noire Complete Bundle (even cheaper at only $24.99 thanks to my PS+ sub), Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X, Age of Booty, Breath of Fire IV, Dino Crisis 2, Cyberbots and Earthworm Jim HD.
What are YOU buying?

Releases for the Week (December 12th-18th)
Posted by EdEN in minis, PLAYSTATION Store, PS3, PS3 software, PSN on December 19th, 2011
Welcome to the last store update before everyone gets “sick” and has to spend “time at home” to recover… with all the games we’ll be getting on Christmas (you DID remember to be good all year long and already bought the milk and cookies with double chocolate mint, right?).
Week two of “Operation No Retail, No Lies” is in full effect. This time around, we only get two new PSN titles, 3 minis and one PSOne Classic (although the word classic is a bit of a stretch for the game we’ll be getting). One of the minis, Orbit, is a game we’ll be reviewing this week (short review= very fun game worth your money). Another one is Prehistoric Isle, a game that I spent so much money on at the arcades they should be giving it to me free of charge. Of COURSE I’ll be using my PS+ discount to buy it tomorrow as soon as the store update goes live.
We’re getting several retail to digital releases and one of them shines more than the others. L.A. Noire. Not only is it a great game (you can read the review right here), it will also be released in a digital bundle with ALL DLC included as well! But wait, there’s more! PS+ subscribers can purchase it at a discount so be sure to check tomorrow for the final price on what will definitely take you away on a very, very interesting journey.
