Shoot Many Robots Video Interview
Posted by Luke in Interviews, Media, PAX East 2011, Shoot Many Robots on March 23rd, 2011
Have you heard of Demiurge Studios, or maybe Shoot Many Robots? No?? Well, that’s okay. I am sure you’ve heard of games such as Bioshock, Brothers in Arms, Borderlands, and Mass Effect, to name a few. Founded in 2002, Demiurge Studios is one of the leading independent talents in the Boston area. Which, until recently, I found, is quite the hot spot for a good amount of the game development community.
These guys were always the guns for hire that helped companies, such as Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Gearbox Software, and THQ, create just some of the awesome games I listed above. If you are interested in the entire list of games they took part in, you can check it out at Wikipedia. It seems like Demiurge Studios has recently shifted their strategy a little and decided to release their very own original IP, Shoot Many Robots.
How did they think of this game, you ask? Well, the team meets on a regular basis and just throws some ideas around. One day, someone said that they wanted to make a game about shooting robots. After some tweaking, and in between project development, the team finally came up with what you are about to see.

Swarm Gameplay Interview
Posted by Luke in Featured, Interviews, Media, PAX East 2011 on March 17th, 2011
Here is another one of my awesome interviews at PAX East. This one is with Gregan Dunn, the Director of Business Development at Hothead Games. He was kind enough to talk to me about their upcoming game called Swarm. In Swarm you control up to 50 Swarmites as they are called, and bend them to your will. There are a lot of things to do in this game and it actually does take some thought to get an awesome score. I am not sure what my score was when I tried this game after the interview, but it wasn’t any where close to the the 14 million points or even Gregan’s score for that matter. I must admit, even though I played this game for a short time period, I had a lot of fun. Watch the video below and let me know what you think.
New Portal 2 Campaign Footage and Interview
Posted by Luke in Featured, Interviews, Media, PAX East, PAX East 2011, Portal 2, PS3 on March 15th, 2011

Before leaving PAX East, I managed to put my people skills to solidify a time with Valve. The pay off was great; I was given a chance to record brand new footage of Portal 2′s single player campaign mode… well, to be honest, it had nothing to do with people skills; I was just lucky enough to get slotted in by Doug Lombardi. So, here we have Chet Faliszek set the stage. Telling us about how someone fell out through the booth wall a day prior and how funny it was. As you can see, everyone laughed, so sadly enough, we all agreed (sad face). Anywho, he then tells us that the footage is going to mainly focus on the characters, and new elements within the game. This was nice to hear, because we have already seen and heard a good amount of information about the co-op. So, without further delay, hit the jump for both videos.
PAX East 2011: Uncharted 3 Outtakes
Posted by Ace in Media, PAX East 2011, PS3, PS3 software, Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception on March 13th, 2011
The video shows some amazing gameplay, but mostly gives us a behind-the-scenes look at voice-acting for possibly the biggest game of 2011. The Uncharted 3 crew recently showed off this video at PAX East the quality isn’t the best in the world due to lighting being so poor, but you can still get a good glimpse of the humor Nolan North and Richard McGonagle are sharing together.
This might be the closest we can get to Uncharted 3 before it hits this fall. Nathan’s latest adventure won’t be coming out till November 1st in North America, and November 4th in the UK.
