Are Video Games Causing Marital Trouble?

I listened to a local news story about how video games are causing marital issues. They reported that 15% of women say their husbands’ obsession with gaming is cause for their divorce. It was only 5% a year ago in the same survey. I think part of this is due to them not working out the real issues in their marriage, or maybe it’s just that some guys are really addicted to games and don’t care about anything else. If you are playing games for 8+ hours every day, and your aren’t getting paid to do it, I think that’s a little much for a married guy. Unless your wife if out of town. Then get in all the gaming you can!
How Long Can You Go Without Playing On Your PS3?

Forget the PSN incident for a second – or maybe for the next 60 seconds and let me give you an insight on what’s currently going on in my life.
We all have been affected by the PSN outage which lasted for over a month or so – this including the full restoration of the PS Store (which is as of writing this still offline). However, the majority of you have had the opportunity to play single player games on your beloved black box, ensuring the addict has got their fix whilst the PSN services were down.
Online gaming was restored only a few weeks ago, and those of you who are addicted to those multiplayer games got your ‘online’ gaming fix and your gaming life is now almost back to normal.
For me, it’s a little bit different. My story still goes back to when the initial services went offline back in April. I have yet to wait to get my gaming fix, whether it be on a single player game or a multiplayer. Why? Well, here my story (I hope the Hollywood producers are reading this – I’m sure you could beef up the story and make it into a Hollywood production).
Do you (Your Name Here) take the PlayStation as your lawfully…

June 12, 2008. My first PS3. Do you remember your first?
To love and to hold.
Have you ever been in love? I have. To a machine. Not just a machine, but a PlayStation. Do you remember the day clearly? Your first PlayStation console? Whether you purchased it yourself or with the help of others, that day can never be erased from our memories. The first game I ever invested my time with was Metal Gear Solid. I was a freshman in college in Chicago. Winter break came along and I chose to stay in my dorm room. As my ex-girlfriend and her roommates went home for the winter, I stayed home with the company of Solid Snake and Sniper Wolf.
A couple years later, I’m out of college. I have my first job and I had my sights on a PlayStation 2. First paycheck, I went to my local Toys ‘R’ Us to purchase my second love. So many memories we made. From my first 23-2 game in SOCOM 2, to the endless nights securely transporting convoy trucks safely in SOCOM 3, the amazing final fight with Solidus Snake, the clutch field goal that won it for you in Madden 2003, the drama that unfolded with Ocelot, Volgin, and the Boss; after going through those experiences, I knew, at that moment, I would always be a PlayStation fan.
Is It Bedtime? Did I Ask For A Story?
Yes. It is bedtime. And you will sit there and read every word I have to say. This story has charm, lovable characters, and paints a picture with words because the author is awesome. Let’s begin, dearest reader…
My Top Five Most Anticipated Games for (the remainder of) 2011
Posted by MAINEiac4434 in Dead Island, Editorial, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, L.A. Noire, Media, Off-Topic, PS3, Soapbox, Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception on March 24th, 2011
Since my last top five list was marginally well received, I’ve decided to give it another shot and deliver the games that will keep me a recluse for most of this year.
Yes, it’s almost April, but it’s never too late to think about the games you’re going to be shelling $60 out for. And as long as it’s snowing outside (and it still is here in Maine), I still consider it the beginning of the year…you know, unless it’s November or something.
Anyway, here are my top five most anticipated games for the rest of 2011. All release dates are the current US release dates for the games.
