PS4 to be revealed in 2012?

Rumors of Sony’s new console (PS4) had been circling the gaming sites recently. It first started with a report from Digitimes, who claimed that a Taiwanese manufacturer partners will begin production of PlayStation 4 at the end of 2011 for launch in 2012! Foxconn and Pegatron (a Taiwan- based Manufacturers) assemblers of PS3 will take on the job of assembling the PS4. The rumors also claims that a planned shipment of 20 million units will be ready for launch in 2012.
The report follows another from IndustryGamers (a reliable US news site), which claimed that a top developer industry source said that “the PlayStation 4 will become a real thing in the next 18 months”. It was also reported that PS4 will feature a body movement-based control like Kinect.
PlayStation Vita Gets a Release Date?!
Posted by Ace in PlayStation Vita, Rumors on June 22nd, 2011

A United Kingdom retailer, ShopTo.net, has given the PlayStation Vita a release date of November 4th, 2011 on its online store. The website lists the Vita with a starting price £228.94 to those that order before the release.
While we would love this to be the official release date, it is likely that the retailer has estimated the release date to encourage eager fans to pre-order the upcoming handheld console.
Speaking to GameSpot, Sony said that no official date had been given, making it even more clear that ShopTo has probably added the November 4 release as a placeholder.
“No one has communicated any release dates to retail partners. That date is not official as we haven’t announced anything yet.” Said Sony.
Previously, Sony stated that Vita would launch worldwide in 2011, so let’s hope it isn’t too far away from ShopTo’s placeholder. As far as I’m concerned, the sooner the better, so we can make love with Uncharted: Golden Abyss. I would start saving up now. This fall, is going to a killer for our wallets!
When do you think Vita will be released?
Vita Likely to be Region Free
Posted by Jay in PlayStation Vita, QuickNews, Rumors on June 11th, 2011
For those who like to import their games because a title or two would never make it to retailers in your region, Michael Denny, VP of Sony Worldwide Studios, hints at the possibility of the Vita being region free, stating that he was not aware of any region locking tech on the gaming media (which, I guess, are now called NVG Cards). I think all gaming consoles should be region free, personally.
Sony Confirms PlayStation 4
This image is fan made but, it still looks pretty damn awesome. With Wii 2 due to be shown at E3 and hints of new Microsoft hardware abound, it was only a matter of time before Sony dropped hints about its plans for the next gen. Sony’s executive vice president and chief financial officer Masaru Kato has confirmed that the company is putting together a “future platform” – the almost assured PlayStation 4. He referred to Sony’s next console during a conference call to investors when asked to clarify an increase in research and development costs, according to Eurogamer.
Kato said:
“For the home equipment the PS3 still has a product life but this is platform business, so for the future platform – when we’ll be introducing that product, I cannot discuss that – but our development is already under way, so the costs are incurred there.”
The news contrasts claims made by Sony Computer Entertainment chief Kaz Hirai earlier this year, who said that the firm was “not deliberating” a PS4.
Rumor: Modern Warfare 3 Menus Leaked?!
Posted by Ace in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, PS3, PS3 software, Rumors, Talk on May 18th, 2011
Well, it seems, someone spilled more MW3 beans. Take a look for yourselves, they look pretty legit, but who knows these days. We’ll have to wait until E3 to see some legit in-game Modern Warfare 3 menus. Ace thinks Battlefield will have better menus.
What do you guys think about these rumored menus?
