Mine would have to be a toss up between:
Metallica with Suicidal Tendencies, Fight, and Candle Box(lol) was supposed to have Alice in Chains too, but they cancelled. 8-(
.38 Special, Styx, and REO Speedwagon is definitely up there. The Foreigner show at the Celebrity Theater was really good, too. As was my second row seat at the Billy Squier concert (first row was the roadies; Celebrity Theater is a very small, intimate theater, but has awesome concerts and every seat rocks lol).
There are two: Nouvelle Vague (2007) and Belle and Sebastian (2010). The first was just spectacular and B&S is my favorite band and the show was perfect.
Another memorable one is Paul McCartney (2010). Tomorrow I'll go to a Primal Scream show celebrating 20 years of the album Screamadelica (which they'll play in its entirety) and it's sounding very promising as well.
I saw an Epica show in Dordrecht which was pretty amazing--they held it inside of an old cathedral.
Hmm, I also really like Trans Siberian Orchestra shows. They are pretty sweet light effects.
Coheed and Cambria's Neverender New York.
the best 4 nights ever!
The Cure in an awesome 3 hour concert.
Maroon 5, only concert i've ever been to haha
Rage against the machine's last concert.
Red hot chili peppers, korn, mettalica take a close 2nd. Kiss was also cool at irvine meadows but i didnt care for the band lol. Rage simply destroyed it. They blinded you with stage lights for last few songs and you could only see the shadows of the band, Was incredible.
At least I know the bands Jason talked about, the others not so much lol
I really went to that concert I talked about Primal Scream - 20 years of Screamadelica Tour and it was one of the best I've ever been to! Certainly top 5, great audience and vibes, song was dead perfect and people were so excited, it was a very spiritual experience!
Yikes, thats a tough one, Korn,, 5 finger death punch, system of a down, the last concert my wife and I saw was bon jovi......hard to choose just one, we've also seen Nickelback 3 times three days grace twice, default once, and theory of a dead man once.....too many concerts lol.
Ohh yeah also saw loverboy once as well!!!
wow, kind of a dead thread here. Have to say for myself seeing the Family Values Tour was pretty darn awesome.
Actually I'm going to change my answer, recently saw The Weeknd live, amazing concert, he didn't just sing stuff from his album, he put on a performance, really got into the show.
Their are 3 shows that top the list.
1. Def Leppard/Poison
2. Kiss/Motley Crue
Ah I've always heard that Foreigner shows were really good.
Mr. Lefty and I saw them at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix (it's a small venue; every seat there is like being in the front section lol). They are awesome live. Theatrics aren't overdone or anything. Like Styx, the focus is always mostly on the music itself.
No way! I've never been to the Celebrity Theater but the Marquee is my favorite. I figure bands are usually one or the other. All about the music or all about the showmanship.
I've never been to the Marquee so I don't have an opinion on that lol. I do like the Dodge/Comerica theater, but the Celebrity is way more intimate than any other venue I've been to. The only thing is, you won't see mega acts like AC/DC or Kiss there.
That's true. I really can't stand the gigantic venues like the Jobing.com arena, there's such a huge disconnect that unless you're in the front (with $400 tickets), you might as well be watching the show from the jumbo tron in the cheap seats. The only "big" venue I went to and felt like there was a good show from most angles was the Cricket Pavilion, although I think Ashley Furniture owns it now.
