wow, kind of a dead thread here. Have to say for myself seeing the Family Values Tour was pretty darn awesome.
Actually I'm going to change my answer, recently saw The Weeknd live, amazing concert, he didn't just sing stuff from his album, he put on a performance, really got into the show.
Mr. Lefty and I saw them at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix (it's a small venue; every seat there is like being in the front section lol). They are awesome live. Theatrics aren't overdone or anything. Like Styx, the focus is always mostly on the music itself.
No way! I've never been to the Celebrity Theater but the Marquee is my favorite. I figure bands are usually one or the other. All about the music or all about the showmanship.
I've never been to the Marquee so I don't have an opinion on that lol. I do like the Dodge/Comerica theater, but the Celebrity is way more intimate than any other venue I've been to. The only thing is, you won't see mega acts like AC/DC or Kiss there.
That's true. I really can't stand the gigantic venues like the Jobing.com arena, there's such a huge disconnect that unless you're in the front (with $400 tickets), you might as well be watching the show from the jumbo tron in the cheap seats. The only "big" venue I went to and felt like there was a good show from most angles was the Cricket Pavilion, although I think Ashley Furniture owns it now.
