so apparently Nas got sick on Wednesday and couldn't make it at his concert on campus. Make up tonight.. and again I can't go.. considering blowing off people today and going.. but not sure.
That's ok it' sa moot point .. around 3:30 people starting heading to the Rexall Centre which is where the Concert is.. and the doors open at 4pm.. a free concert with people lining up before 4 says to me.. packed concert.. possibly too packed for me.. Plus it has the added benefit of being a rap concert so I could probably expect a nice cloud of haze which I'm not a fan off. I'm staying home and not going.. the worst of both worlds?
Haha i almost thought you were talking about rexall place where i live, i was confused for a sec lol

dude you're in Canada.. and I did say York right? I meant York University in Toronto.. it's entirely possible i was. Nas held a free concert on campus at the Rexall Centre tonight.
really? never heard of Nas??
not to be mixed up with Nos

Nas is a rapper. One of the more lyrically intelligent articulate ones as opposed to the pure hardcore gangsta pop-radio acts.
You factor out the "holy trinity" of rap (Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Eminem) the next two rappers on the greatest of all time list are likely a back and forth between Jay-Z, and Nas. They had some of the biggest back and forths of rap history.
Personally I'm not that big a fan and I'd probably put LL and KRS-One over both of them but that's a topic for another discussion. As much as people like to talk up Nas I've always wondered what songs they think about?

With Eminem you have a huge assortment of hits like
Without Me
ob=av3e
The Real Slim Shady
ob=av3e
and plenty more

LL Cool J has classics like
Rock the Bells (which I'm pretty sure most people haven't actually heard beyond the opening verse)
I Need Love

Even Jay-Z has stuff like that people would know like
Big Pimpin
I Just Wanna Love U

But Nas? I never know what people know about Nas there's stuff like
One Mic
ob=av3e
which my dad is a huge fan of
but at school ( i went to an HBCU- google it) people would talk about stuff like
Ether
and **** Jay-Z isn't really lyrically fun or anything
I also like
Hip Hop is Dead
which is pretty fun
but peeps talk about
Made You Look
and
Hate Me Now
neither of which I personally enjoy
as a P.S. I do like
his track with Damien Marley "As We Enter"
That's a lot of nas there.. and I'm not big into Nas.. I feel like I should dump some KRS links in here but it's highly unlikely anyone will even click all of these as it stands.
I've never been a huge fan of Nas. I favorite QB rapper would have to be Noreaga. Biggie being at the top of my list which puts Jay-Z somewhere a lot lower because of the way he conducted himself after BIG was murdered. I'd still put Pac @#2 even though "if I have to choose a coast, I have to choose the east". Eminem is meh. You can't deny his commercial success and he is often telling a story, so it's interesting. But I find his flow to be very choppy, it's not smooth like Biggies. I like the way LL Cool J destroyed Cannibus :P
