I didn\'t like the style at first but it eventually looks the same or even better than the old one and takes a lot less power :).

Less height, less energy consumed and a good enough sized HDD were what made me buy a Slim and so far it's been a great experience.

I bought a PS3 slim after YLOD and have to say I am very impressed, my only issue is that I liked the sd card reader at the front and it would have been good to keep that.  But why should an existing customer have to pay full price when they bought an original and it failed, maybe a 30% discount on the console if you trade inyour broken PS3? Just a thought sony.

I used to own the fat PS3 (60g) but i sold it because i'm an idiot. Um, i've had the slim since launch but i'm kinda missing the extra USB ports, the glam was kinda turned down tremendously. All we get is a few strips of gloss while the fat PS3 is head-to-toe covered in gloss. Overall, slim is performing up to par, no complaints except for the fact that it's lost some of it's sexiness. However, the slim is still far times sexier than that white dirty box some people refer to as the xbox 360. >.<

I hated the gloss tbh. It made me feel like I could never touch the system. Idk, finger prints and smudges are ugly lol…

The gloss on the original just made it all the more prone to attracting dust and making smudges magically appear.

I liked the gloss finish lol. My system is pretty much hidden in the dark anyway, so finger print smudges and stuff are no biggie. The dust easily wipes off, though, and that's because of the smooth surface. The rougher surfaces attract dust just the same, but are harder to get fully clean because there are more dimples the dust can collect in, but since the surface usually isn't glossy on rougher surfaces, dust doesn't show up as well

Gloss might look great, but less energy consumed and not being as tall as the original model are also a great plus for the slim.

I bought a slim to sit in the living room and act as a Blu Ray player and media server … great for the kids to play on too.

Eyepet and LBP are the current favourites.

Managed to get myself Valkyria Chronicles, MGS4, and Killzone for when i can grab 5 minutes on it.

I still mainly use PC and 360 in my study – but I also rent games from Boomerang.  It's great to play the likes of Uncharted 2 and GoW 3 now :)
