u see I drooped my ps3 and now is dead! yell and I don\'t have a back up of my game saves!!!! need some help!!! cry does any 1 know a hack or some thing 2 get out my saves?…. if I put it in a new ps3 it gets erased!!!!!!!!!!! dot know if a can put it in a laptop???? :???: and make a copy??? ….. and 1 more big problem! cant take it 2 a ps3 store b cause a live in central America, so that means I\'m by my self whit this problem. frownfrownfrownfrown

since the HDD is essentially "married" to the PS3 it was in (meaning it will only work with that specific console unless the drive were to be formatted on another system), backing it up is out of the question UNLESS you can get your broken PS3 fixed. Laptops might recognize the drive, but it won't be able to access it because the file system is proprietary (meaning its specific to the PS3).

tks! i got a friend that can fix it! he has a old mother board and he will install the old hard drive and blue ray on it!… don\'t ask how! lol this guy is good!smile

Not to mention that OS in installed on the PS3's motherboard and not the HDD.  Thats how you upgrade the HDD in the first place.

Get a USB Flash Drive and copy saves then paste it on there then put it in to the new ps3 and open it from there and copy it back on.
