i forgot to deactivate my PSN on my ps3 before formatting it and after the formatting i downloaded those games again(same ps3) hmmm… does that mean that the one i forgot to deactivate will be counted on the 5 machines? so meaning now that this is my 2nd download of those games… does it mean that i can only share them now to 3 machines?
and tnx to everyone that will share their idea…
If it's the same PS3. I would think it wouldn't count as a "extra". You can check online and see how many you have active.
fairly certain it won't count as a different machine. I've done these multiple times, and i don't even believe it needs to be re-activated. But they have changed the process of formatting a drive/backuping /restoring, at some point i'll get a 1tb 2.5 inch drive, or a 7200 750 hybrid drive.
I believe that you can actually deactivate "all" systems via account management at sonyentertainmentnetwork.com now.
Once you sign into account management, go to the Account tab and click on "Media and Devices".
Click on the down arrow under game and select "Deactivate All"
I have clicked on the button myself so I can't speak for what happens next :)
You can deactivate all PS3's once a year on that site now.
Also, no, the account is saved on the PS3 itself, so it won't count as two systems.
Finally, you can only have two machines active now that are able to play games you DL from the store, unless those games were bought before they changed it to two
As Oly has said, you can now deactivate all of your PS consoles/portables once a year from the site, which sure comes in handy.
I'm curious if you deactiveate all counts, when you reactive the ps3's, will you still be able to use 5 for the previous content or not? wonder if anyone knows that.

um.. as far as I can tell the limit is 2 (or 5) at a time. so if you deactivate all of them you can reactivate on any 2 (or 5) systems. Whether that's systems you already own or new systems.
