I was impressed with the 3D effect and it has alot of depth, but I can't see myself gaming with those cluncky glasses for 2 hours.

I'll wait until smaller and less cluncky glasses comes out.

What did you try out on it? I have to admit I'm somewhat intrigued by the 3D Features for gaming but like you I can't see myself wearing the glasses whilst doing so.

I tried this at Betarooms, and just like 3D at the cinema I'm still not sold as forced 3D makes your eyes work in all the wrong ways giving me and many others headaches.

3D must be considered and implemented from the start to really make an impact. Sure, making a regular 2D movie a 3D one does add some depth and increase color perception but is not the same as a full on 3D movie.

I guess one movie that will take this into consideration is The Hobbit and Disney has said that their newer movies will do so as well (Pirates of the Caribbean, the next Prince of Persian movie, etc.).

If it ever gets made that is.

I've seen two movies in 3D, I went to see Avatar and the 3D was astounding for it. Next I went to see Toy Story 3 which had some good 3D in it but overall I'm also not sold completely, I found that about 3 quarters into Avatar my eyes were starting to feel a bit strained by it.

I can't imagine how it'd be for gaming where there is a lot more going on.

I tried it on a bravia 3DTV and motorstorm. Try going to a futureshop or sony style store to get a demo.

But goddamn those TV are expensive... way out of my budget.

That's my biggest issue right there! Only 2 hours of gaming?! What is this! KB would be very dissapointed...

But on a serious note. They would have to come down a lot in price, and I'm not going to upgrade so soon, I may have only had my current TV for a little short of a year, but it still has life in it! I have yet to see for myself if I like it. Right now i'm more interested in the Move controls for FPS. I have yet to pick up the Move bundle [i need to do that sometime soon...].

@JCMoorehead: I can take a Hobbit delay if they get to us the extended editions on Bluray and pronto... and doing a better job than the transfers for the regular lenght releases.

I have yet to try 3D on a playstation but, I can't wait until 3D is supported just like HD is today.

3D+Move= The fanboy war over, surely.

The fanboy war will never be over as long as people keep on arguing over which is 'better' (The answer by the way is none, they're all just different. Enjoy the huge amount of choice you have, if you prefer one over the other then good for you! Move on.)

I tried 3D on a PS3 last year in a electronics store. I was really impressed, they were showing Motorstorm:PR and the way trees, dirt and the HUD popped up in the foreground was amazing and looked really cool. It was definitely an immersive experience.

When the prices of 3DTVs go down to a normal price I will definitely pick one up 😀

I'd rather wait it out for the no glasses required TV's. I'm in no rush for 3D. Thanks for the link Beastxjason.

Yeah, we might as well wait. Every day, they're getting better and better at creating the illusion of 3D without the glasses. Hopefully, once they're mastered that the prices will drop, and more people will adopt it. I'd be interesting in trying to play 3D games and watching 3D sports.

I'm not a huge 3D fan though, I'm waiting for the movie that's in full 3D, and doesn't just have bits and peices flying out at random times. If they make the whole thing in 3D, I'm willing to bet it'd be easier on the eyes, no? I could be wrong, it's far from perfect. But, I don't really get headaches. I just hate that I pay to see a 3D movie and 15 minutes of it stands out in 3D, and mostly things that aren't related to the story.

3D in games needs to be like what Disney did in UP...that is, understated. I liked the illusion of some depth without all of the gimmicky stuff jumping from the screen ala Spy Kids 3-D...the last 3D movie I saw before UP.

Haha i remember Spy Kids 3D. You had to take the glasses on and off if i remember correctly and it was filled with gimmicks, things were popping out of the screen everywhere

Exactly...it was headache central and a half! I just want to walk around in a game and feel like I'm moving through the world...not dodging stretchy kicks and rubber band punches.
