I'm too lazy to REALLY help you with this BUT if you go to the official PS blog and search for Plus you'll find the "comming on X date to PS Plus" posts.
Hmm Playstation Plus content varies depending on region. The offcial PS Blog (EU and US) makes a list of upcoming releases and content every month. If you were to list everything it probably take up a couple of pages

Can we actually renew before the sub expires? Anyone here done that and check if their expiration date for their downloaded games has been changed to the new 2012/2013 date?
Not too sure, you can go to Qriocity.com and under Account>Wallet, you can actually setup your wallet to automatically renew subscriptions which isn't the simplest way to go about it, but at least it won't run out!
Better yet, if you go your Account Info on playstation.com, then you scroll down to Manage Account, it will take you to another website. Once you're there, click on View Services, which is the last option on the page. Then, you'll see a list of Services you're subscribed to. If you click on PlayStation Plus, it takes you to another page and you'll have to click on PlayStation Plus again and it'll show your sign up date and your expiration date. You can cancel automatic renewal here as well.
Mine expires and renews automatically on the 29th of September, woot!
