During the year I had it I got early access to a few betas…Little Big Planet, SOCOM, Resistance 2 were the ones I remember.   Nice stuff, but usually it was only a few weeks earlier than public beta.

They also usually had a "free game" or theme you could get.  Unfortunately the games were always something I all ready had.

The extra art was kind of cool, as were the video interviews.  Same sort of stuff you can get on the web, presented in a nicer format.

Well, there was a rumored poll that suggested there would be an annual subscription for PSN… but one of the options gave you access to all PSX and minis available on PSN included in the subscription. At $70 (if I recall properly) a year, it might be worth it since I can think of several minis and PSX games I\'d like to get and it would feel almost like just buying a bundle of the games and getting the other extras from the Premium PSN for free.

As is, I haven\'t purchased a single PSX or minis game until Sony makes up their mind and we see WHAT can be had for a Premium PSN subscription.

If anything I don\'t want it to be like a must even though I would probably get it but if it was way to different then the others would be pressured to choose PSN or LIVE.

I don\'t think Sony will do the Live style of pay for online until the PS4. They would really piss off their fanbase and would get hammered in the media. It is still a major part of their marketing and at this point would make no sense to me.

I wouldn\'t blame them for charging. Why not recoup the server costs if you can. Even with Live being PDP, they still have servers to setup games and keep stats.

If Sony does eventually go pay to play, you will be able to find a year subscription much cheaper than retail. 12 month Live can be had for $30 most of the year. Amazon has them for $40 right now. If you game a lot online it really is money well spent if the service is improved over what it is now.

Again, I think you are all safe with free online for the PS3

E3 might be when  Sony decides to reveal the PSN Premium program… and E3 is practically around the corner.

Going back to the original post when we started talking about psn+ and looking at psn+ now are two different stories. i think they have done a great job with the psn+ so far, and I'm sure it's just the beginning. now with hulu + coming, youtube 3d, just great stuff coming to ps3. they just have to fix this browser.
