As soon as I read that I couldn't move movies bought from the service it made the decision to NOT buy any movies very, very easy.

The whole data backup-transfer seems a bit like a hassle and I think if I ever change systems I'll just back up all saves to the cloud, sync trophies...

Well I've backed up the hard drive before and it was at least 100 GB of data before & restored it as well in the past.

I also noticed after I moved everything to the PS3 Slim that some themes where corrupt so that might be another place to check if your getting those errors. But it did do a successful...

Mmm, my guess would be that you backed up to a non-FAT32 HDD and when trying to move to the Slim it won't recognize it. You can only move 32 GB of data at all for some reason (damn you FAT32!) so you SHOULD have just moved everything with an ethernet cable from PS3 to PS3... but of course, since...
