You sorta hit a glass ceiling around level 12. I earned three platinum trophies and it only gave me about 6%. I ended up with 68% of BioShock 2\'s trophies and ended up with less than 10% on the level bar.
The number of trophies needed to go up a level from level 9 and on just jumps up withour warning. If the algorithm Sony uses to calculate how much EXP you get per trophy changes every 8-10 levels or so I wonder when someone might hit Lvl 99… 2020?
Some games also differ with regards to how much a particular type of Trophy is worth with regards to exp. I think PSN titles offer less exp although I can't confirm that, it's just a hunch. It's also true that the higher up the levels you go, the more Trophies you will need to earn to improve the percentage to move up to the next level.
The next game I will Platinum is Modern Warfar 2, I just need one more Trophy for the Platinum…
For me PSN trophies gave me as much experience as disc based trophies but getting past Lvl 9 is proving to take much longer than my initial month in which I went up 3 levels…

I was playing Dante's Inferno and and got a suprise Platinum!
I was planing to go for it, but I must have been closer than I thought. Got that wounderful trophy "DinG" for one I was trying for and then a second "DinG" right after it, looked up at the corner and saw the Platinum icon and freaked out.
