I wonder when unregistering a console, for it to be verified, the console to be unregistered has to be online for verification before it is officially removed from the list. If not, that's a hell of an open loophole lol

i think it has to work with the console offline or else what's the point. someone highjacks my account for whatever reason I don't want to have to wait for them to get online to kick them off. It's a very small loophole if anything and i do intend to exploit it.

Teehee, I actualy have a friend using my account who decided that the internet was a waist of resources so we actualy tested this out. I used the online function to deactivate the account and for the time being he's still good to play as he has yet to take his PS3 online.

@Eden - When I did it I didn't know which PS3 was which so deactivated 'everything' at once, or perhaps Sony have figured this out and temerarorly stopped the process, either way I've managed to deactivate consoles online.

All you really need is consistent chat throughout games.
- small games like Hoard, You Don't Know Jack, and Uno require universal chat. I need to be able to speak to everyone because teamwork isn't really that important to the game
- team games like Fat Princess, and Awesomenauts require team based chat where you only hear your team because you need to work together.
- highly specific FPS games like Resistance, Killzone, require squad-based or party chat (Resistance 2 does this very well)

What I think Sony should do is develop a bloody chat API for developers and give them a choice. Pick one of the three. It'll make developing that much easier on developers and give the gamer a consistent experience, they know to expect one of three systems for chat.

So if you really mean party chat that can be done. If you mean cross game chat. I don't understand. If I'm playing Awesomenauts it's cool that we're friends but I don't care to speak with you. I want to speak with the guys who are playing with me. It's be nice to talk to say talk to hobbes about the site while playing pinball but honestly it's something I can gladly live without if it's the difference between playing for free and turning into XBL Gold system. There are VERY few instances where I've been frustrated by chat options. One was when I wanted to teach someone how to play Fat Princess. This was after the team balancing patch so there's no way to make a small 4 man game and have two of us on the same team.
