Just as the topic states. I only own two. I think "Let the right one in" is the best I have scene in terms of wow factor. The other I own is "Natural born killers". Its decent but lacks the over all wow I get from LTROI. I have purchased many for my father and was wondering what you guys feel are the must have titles?
I have scene the LOTR and wasnt blown away by it. Mission impossible 1 is a sure pass. 300 was another great looking one but is extremely grainy which how the director wanted it.
I have 3 blu rays so far :
- Planet Earth – 5 discs of beautiful HD footage from around the world. If you like want to unwind and learn a thing or two this is great. The footage is breathtaking and the commentary by David Attenborough is great. I think he only commentates for the UK version though.
- Inception – My new favourite film. The quality is top notch and a must have for anyone who loves the film.
- Star trek – I only got this one because someone recommended it. It's the best looking blu ray i've seen so far and the film itself is very good.
If you want to test out your TV then I would recommend Star Trek.
I have Inception, Star Trek, The Dark Knight, Deja vu, Scott Pilgrim vs the world, Kick Ass, Half Blood Prince, District 9, The Hurt Locker, Zombieland, Ricky Bobby (since it came with the launch ps3), Quantum of Solace (13 bucks, can't go wrong!) and No Country for Old Men. I like buying Bluray especially when they come in Dvd combo packs. Not to mention most new Bluray movies are the same price as the special edition dvds XD, at least when I buy them. I don't do comedies on Bluray, I try to stick to action/sci fi movies. Something that would be good in high def. Though I can tell the difference a lot when I watch a dvd vs Bluray. Sometimes it annoys me lol. Wouldn't mind the Bourne trilogy on Bluray, or even Band of Brothers.
Unstoppable is good huh Ace? need to see it..
I own too many to list.. seriously lol..
Must owns tho IMO
Aliens Collection
Matrix Collection
Xmen Titles
Inception
Batman:Dark Knights
Pixar Films
I've got about 60 blurays, 15 of which are Disney/Pixar animated releases.
As for suggestions from my collection, here's a list:
Wall-E
Dark Knight Returns
Wizard of Oz
Star Trek
Sin City
Back to the Future Trilogy
Nightmare on Elm Street
Iron Man 1 and 2
The only Blu-Ray I have personally is the Watchmen The End is Nigh Complete Collection for PS3. I swear best blu-ray ever. For 19.99 NEW you get, the Watchmen movie, BOTH PSN games on disc. And a cool case with a translucent sleeve and everything :D
If you ever plan on buying Watchmen and have a PS3, get this game/movie pack.
