@EdEN if you watch a bunch of gameplay videos to learn what's possible in the game, it becomes so much more fun.

'what's possible' isn't interesting to me. LBP has a lot that was possible. But it's hard to do. I'm hoping that minecraft is a bit easier to work with .. but then i hear they just added a javascript engine and now it's sounding complex. as much as I do want to learn more programming I don't want it in my games.

@Wolfkin Pretty much everything that's complicated in minecraft involves red stone, if you stay away from that you'll be fine. The thing about LBP is that there's always someone doing something so complex that I could never even figure out what basic tools they used to get started.

Its kinda the same reason I like to dick around in The Sims. I just like building and decorating things while I'm watching a movie or something. I have like 6 different saves on Sims 3 in different towns and only one of my sims has a job XD I just build and decorate houses, and Minecraft is just like an 8-bit version of that but with a bit of an adventure aspect since you have to gather the materials (outside of creative mode).

@kennygk I do! I just watched their potion one XD I especially like seeing the difference between the PC and Xbox versions. I would love to have their crafting menu D=

Also, "vanilla" Minecraft will look like a freaking piece of cake if you watch Tekkit, FTB, or Voltz videos… I'll just stick to my houses thanks.

@missxya thanks you just reminded me about there potion episode, completely forgot to watch that. You would love to have the Xbox crafting menu? I joined my friends Tekkit server, only played for a couple minutes just to see all the items it has, it's crazy how complicated it is, it's pretty much a whole new game for free

I've only seen friends play, and I just couldn't get past the fifteen year old graphics. Maybe I should give it a go, though.

The graphics aren't really dated, it's more like a throwback, so there is definitely polish when it comes to textures and shadows.

I've started playing Tekkit, and wow it is like playing a completely different game. At first you can play it like a normal minecraft game, but then you start getting enough resources for oil pipelines, nuclear reactors, quarries. Anyone else tried it?

Yep ! I played and loved it !
Once you have a JetPack, you'll wonder why this isn't in vanilla minecraft !

We did a lot of testing with the nuclear reactors ! You can see what our tests gave at this URL : http://minecraftqc.blogspot.ca/2012/09/tests-nucleaires.html (french — but you can check only the images lol)… they explode quite easily lol !
