I liked the Green Lantern Movie. I am a huge Green Lantern fan and thought it was okay. It did not deserve the shitting on from critics it got. It was no ghost rider or Daredevil.(All though Afleck is the bomb.)

crikes man. I really need to rewatch GL because I kinda hated it.. well not 'hated' but i had huge problems with the movie and I too am a huge GL fan. I actually LIKED Daredevil i honestly didn't really have any issue with DD like I had with GL.

Miniseries Alice I think i remember that it was a Sci-Channel joint right? circa Tinman? good stuff. I think i recall a flying motorcycle?

To be fair I didn't hate Daredevil I just used it cause it's often raked over the coals for being a bad movie. I really liked their choice of Kingpin as well. RIP Micheal Clarke Duncan.

Huge comic fan, love Green Lantern, and absolutely hated the movie. Honestly on my top 5 worst comic movies ever.
I thought the Hobbit was really good. The book is my all time favorite book, read it 3 maybe 4 times now, and although they added some stuff, it mostly comes from the Lost Tales and Similiarian, so I'm ok with it.

Definitely thought it could have had a darker atmosphere, but that's the approach they'll be taking for the Justice League movie, so at least they realized their mistake.

I hope they don't go too dark. It might not feel like the DCU.

Do wonder how they'll end up doing the JLA movie, what with the rumored Batman reboot.

last i hear rumor was JLA WAS the Batman reboot. There isn't time to reboot him before the movie so JLA goes first and then the individual films kinda an inverse of Marvel.

Also I rewatched Zack and Miri make a Porno. Man that DVD has a lot of deleted/extended scenes. It's like an 90 minute video track. It's practically a movie itself.

I kinda watched the Glee concert movie. I made it about 20 minutes in before I figured out they were doing the concert dvd as their characters and I got about two "inspiring real life stories" in before I kinda just let it play in the background and just checked in every few minutes. ehh nothing to write home about.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

http://i.imgur.com/LO1NXTzl.png

At 2hr15m of feature time it's a long movie. What I'm surprised at was how much I didn't realize it. Transformers was a bloody long movie. I fell asleep in the theatre, woke up and suddenly Megatron was fighting in a city. No idea who or how many because character design in that series is garbage. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl is a long movie in retrospect. I can even point to the fight scenes that make it long. And that's a trend that continued until the third film where I remember seeing it but I swear i slept with my eyes open again because no idea what happened at one point.

The point is I know long movies. Not all bad either. I know a lot of movies that his 2hrs+ and are good. I'm happy to say Hunger Games was one. Very strange I felt engaged pretty much the entire way through. I don't know if this makes me sexist but inspire of reading the book and enjoying it to an extent. I just wasn't expecting Catching Fire to be good.

But again I have to stress this. It's a long movie but it's actually quite good. I can't even say it was merely decent. It was a solid good movie. Darn near worth the hype. This is a movie that SHOULD be generating fangirls. I haven't seen The Hunger Games in a while so I don't remember the shaky cam but no such issues here. It was a stupid idea in the first place. The footage is supposed to be a broadcast why wouldn't it be smooth. The plotline is engaging, and it's paced very nicely. There are no real dips, no excessive lulls. They even somehow made me buy Katniss' intelligence more this time around. There's still stuff they left out like the Avoxes, but hey at least I got to see one this time.

@wolfkin yup a lot has changed, can't believe they are doing a batman vs superman movie, I feel like Warner is making all the wrong choices

@the_nmac lol Jon Hamm, imagine if you could've told your past self that Ben Affleck was going to play batman.

Wait what? How do we get to Batman Superman from hunger games. I'm not sure Batman versus Superman is a bad move in the first place. Considering the limited shelflife of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies this might be one of the first good steps they've made .
