I got tired of starring at it so I cracked the seal on my NMH2 and man that game has gotten better. They've COMPLETELY cut out the overworld and for the most part that works in it's favor. All the side jobs are now mini-games and so far they're all pretty good or at least workable.

The only thing I don't like is the new charging mechanic. Now you have to push the 1 button to start charging last game you could just start shaking and it would do it. it's hard to reach that 1 button but stil… fun times.
