If there is anyone out there who is yet to see this fantastic film, please do so!
It's not doing all that well, particularly in the US, but I would like to see it continue for a good while, if possible.
Directed by Edgar Wright (Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), it's a film about a 23year old slacker (Michael Cera) who falls in love (with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who wouldn't?) and must do battle with her seven evil exes (Chris Evans, Jason Schwartzman and Brandon Routh among them).
It's got great action, it's funny and it has insane visuals and great music.
Here's a trailer!
Having seen this twice already, and planning a third time before it leaves cinemas, I urge you to give it a shot and help it get a bit more money before it leaves.
I'll be getting the Bluray Collector's Edition (which better exist) with the first two TPB of the Comic. I would pay $40 for that setup.
you saw it and loved it then?
I can't wait to get it on BluRay, although I've bought all the comics, so I can't say I'm excited about that, but any deluxe collectors edition is good with me!!
Yep. Don't own the comics but I've read enough previews, impressions, reviews and "easter eggs guides" for the comics to know my way around them. IF there are no TPB included with the Bluray release I'll have to get all the TPBs eventually.
I'm reading through them all at the moment. Only cost about $10US per TPB, at 6 trades that's $60US, so not too bad at all. Definitely worth having I'd say.
There are some things the movie does better though, and of course, other things that the book does better, simply because it has the advantage of being longer.
From what I've read about the comic there was no way they could put everything in there. I would have liked it if the movie was split in two so everything could be considered but with how it's been doing in the box office…
Hopefully Bluray/DVD sales make the studios a huge profit an a sequel is considered.
I actually loved the movie as it was. Sure, 2 would've been great, and it had to miss some things that would've been awesome, but I'm was fairly happy with what we got. But yeah, hopefully it'll make a heap of money back on Blu/DVD. I know I'll be buying it for myself, at the very least.
I'm sure they'll make mad dough with dvd sales. I really enjoyed it. I work at a movie theatre. I can't tell you hwo many people I saw walking out of it though. Mostly adults.
I really hope you're right drask. Can't believe you saw heaps of people walking out though!
If either of you haven't seen Edgar Wright's other films, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, I suggest you give them a shot. Great British comedies. Also his TV series Spaced, which is similar in terms of geek-references and slackerdom.
