oh please don't even talk about that nightmare. The "all digital future" :shudder: Nothing worse could happen to the industry. That would literally be the end of gaming as we know it.

I go over this so many times I forget where I've said and haven't said it. First off even here in America there are many places where getting online is difficult. There are a lot of gamers that don't play online because it's hard for them. What about the gaming businesses. Tournaments, places like Battle-N-Brew that let you come in and play like an arcade for $15 admittance fee. In a strictly logical sense what you're doing is you're forcing console gamers to adopt a PC model. Console gamers aren't PC gamers for a number of reasons. One of which is that they prefer the console system.

The PC can get away with things like always online because it's already on my internet box. Consoles are not. It's one thing to give me more with my internet but it's another thing to force me to use it. Even now my own internet is sticky. Some days it works some days it doesn't.

I really gotta start my site so i can put together my theory of industry implosion which is based on the fact that according to game stop people need to sell used games to afford new games. This is something I too believe and i think it's a sign of something wrong with the industry. The car industry has a similar model but a car has features like scalable price that don't translate in gaming. Our industry has a HUGE problem with price both on creation and selling.

The PC can go internet only because when you're selling games like Saint's Row the Third for $7 you can go ahead and force me online and put me thru configuration loops. If the Xbox really and truly does online always then we better see prices for games plummet. I mean hardcore plummet. We won't. Microsoft will never lower prices Xbox Live Gold went up $10 with virtually no incentive for increase and they make money hand over fist on XBL Gold, which I hear is like a ransom.. do you really lose your account if you stop paying? All your achievements and friends? That's insane if they really don't just downgrade you to silver.
