I didn't get a PS3 at launch because its price was ridiculous (599$/699$ CAN).
Getting a console at launch will depend on its price :)

even if I had the money I wouldn't .There's no point. As I always say Launch titles suck. The second week of any console launch all anyone does is whine about how much the game library sucks as if more games aren't coming next week. I do what I tell them to do. I wait for the games to arrive and THEN i buy the console. There's no penalty and lots of benefits to waiting. Consoles don't rise in price, they don't degrade in production quality. Online doesn't shrink. The only benefit to buying early is bragging rights, and name lockin. The chances of me getting my ideal handle "wolfkin" on pSn decreased every day I didn' thave a ps3. with XBL it's likely impossible now. (I haven't looked)
