I recommend downloading the Advanced Task Killer great app to save memory....

Angry Birds Beta is great, and Qik is a app that allows you to video chat with other android users who have the qik app installed on their phones

To be honest there are so many apps just download something and I'm sure...

Angry Birds is out as a free beta
Astrid is good for task management
wordfeud is a free scrabble game like words with friends
there are quite a lot

I use appbrain.com and its appbrain app along with fast web installer to make browsing the store easier and cleaner
