it's a shame what happened to that game.. it's so much fun. It could have been the Singstar of Rap games even with all the censoring and they just killed it, and not at all gracefully just out of nowhere.
I remember seeing rapstar in my store a bunch…only the wii version sold about 6 copies and then there was 2 copies that never moved.
Is it a konami game? It seems like they stopped putting effort torwards their music games lately.
Im not much of a karaoke gamer…but i do love my copy of queen singstar. I just wished North America had the wireless mics like Europe. I lucked out anyways. I found thd PS2 singstar country bundle pack for 20 bucks on clearance so i bought that, kept the 2 mics and sold the game for 13 bucks since i dont have a PS2.
is it weird to say you kinda got ripped off in the long run? $20 is my high price for a SS game. I got (if i got this right) :ps3: SSV2 for $20, :ps2: Amp'd, Rocks, and 90s for less than $10 each. All of those with mics. I got like 4 sets of mics home in the US and 2 here with me in Canada. Last year I gave out copies of SS Legends for XMas because they only cost about $2 ea. County is the one singstar I don't own simply because I don't want it. I'm 80% sure I bought a pair of mics by themselves just because it was like $6.
If you have any interest in the games check BestBuy that's where I used to see Legends and PopV2 for cheap in the US.
its not bad if you thing about it. 20 bucks for the bundle while it's only 7 months old and selling the disc to gamestop, i ended up paying 7 bucks for the mics and adapters.
It's all good anyways since i pay 10 bucks for any first party sony game 4 – 7 days after it's launch date and sometimes collectors editions for 15 – 25 bucks.
Well I'm not expected that it didn't sell the people you can't demo it in stores or anything.
It's like the radio
"Well I **** my **** in your **** but **** ain't nutin but **** and **** those **** but **** ma ***** and **** **** GENTLEMAN GANGSTAAAAAA.
Or something like that ? XP
Bombed almost as bad as DJ Hero
nah as much as i like it. I think it bombed definitely harder than DJ Hero. People rave about DJ Hero. Almost noone mentioned DJR and from what I can tell DJR is the better game. No peripherals, you don't have to "learn" the music, and it had all kinda of crazy stat tracking, cool online systems where you could battle other MCs or just be a promoter and find the best MC and get cred that way. Form online an online posse etc. DJH is looked upon fondly as a fun game that just didn't make it. Rapstar isn't even looked upon.
I don't know for sure because I don't watch MTV but they actually censor a bit more than I remember hearing on the radio I think it's more censored than MTV. At least the one disc stuff which would be fine, if the DLC was a little looser maybe it is (i haven't done a word by word check) but it doesn't feel any less restricted.
I remember going to an public event and this was the loneliest booth until me and this white dude I don't know decided to check it out. I ended up spending most of my time with it.. I got my 10 minutes of inFamous 2 and waiting 40 minutes to play 15 of KillZone in 3D didn't really appeal to me, but we had a blast at the Rapstar booth. One of the funny things is the dude was talking up the game and he couldn't really tell us how censored the DLC is but they kept saying "There is no cursing in the game but it doesn't punish you for cursing" which just seemed like a very odd phrasing to me.
P.S. but you know what are are some hilarious portions of songs where an entire line will be bleeped out. I think there's a part of Lil Wayne's Milli where all but "he" is blanked out for 3 lines.
