I see alot as of late people DO NOT like the new DmC…. because it was handed to another developer that seems to take the re-imagining of the game and completlely disreguarded the source material…..CSV:LsoS…they took alot from the source but still tried to stay true to the series. How does everyone here feel.

me personally i am split… here is what i had posted in the Off PSb:

"I see alot of ppl all over that are DMC fans arnt happy with it. I
think when there is something new and something we have been used to for
a long time…I mean they havnet changed his look in anything else he has
been in Viewtiful joe of MvC3… it is all the same white haird sassy man
we love… i think no matter what change is hard for anyone.

MGS4 is a bit different of a change… it is still being done by kojima
and in his studio. this is a new team and a new vision. yea things are
gonna be different. and we have to expect that.

if you take the “Devil may cry” aspect out of it. it looks like a
really awesome game. I’d play it. hhaha yea the hero looks a little
lanky and beat up but he still looks awesome.and he has a really sassy
attitude.

I will wait and make my decision on it when i know more and can
actually play it. judging it on the game its self how it is and how it
stands to the franchise…. at least it will be way better than
castlevania judgment…hahahaha"

with something that already has "thing" about it…. when people take it and major over haul…i think,at least from what im seeing, there is major heater discussion caz its so different.

so what does everyone think here?

Well, ALL 4 DMC games used the same type of protagonist even if it wasn't named the same way: dominant red colors in custome and white hair. If the change is for the best and reboots the franchise in the same way as Casino Royale brought back Bond (which is the comparison made by Ninja Theory) then why complain?

I think most people hate the new style caz they have been used to one thing for so long…..but i'm willing to play it and decide if i don't like it or not after. its to hard to tell anything right now… not much is known about it.

Actually it's more than just that (at least for me ).

First, Capcom told Ninja Theory to derail Dante's image as drastically as possible. Capcom even said they didn't care if fans didn't like it. This is in contrast to what Kenji Inafune said a few months prior to TGS. He claimed that the next DMC game was going to tailor to what fans wanted. This turned out to be a lie.

Second, what was wrong with the old Dante? Really? Did anyone say they were tired of him and wanted some generic looking new guy who thinks he's cool? The last game sold 2.7m copies, but that didn't seem to make Capcom happy. Now they think by giving the fans that made the series popular the finger and going ahead with an unnecessary reboot, DmC will sell 5m copies. I won't be buying it no matter what and I know more people who think the same.

Sengoku Basara is the final Capcom game I plan on buying. I'm not supporting DmC or anything else from either them of NT. If they want to treat their fanbase like a bunch of sheep who'll follow them no matter how they treat us then I'm more than happy to prove then wrong.

/end rant
