Ah-HA! I knew it, I wasn't sure but I rarely found myself tracking my solar whilst the entire opposing team where having a gang bang with my failing extremities, I did always seem to come out with less though. I think it's a shame that the game is a little unbalanced, admitidly when it starts you're all even but once you (or your opponent) starts to win either having destroyed a bulk of the turrets or gaining a high powered player it's very difficult to bring it back. I've found that the moment I hit a killing spree (a by product of which is lots of money and upgrades) I start reaping through my enemies and just get stronger and stronger whilst they gradualy leave the game, lol.
like most games there's always a rage quit problem. Balance issues are a thing to be concerned about but honestly many games have that sliding slope problem. That is to say it's harder to make a comeback the father the enemy has progressed. a) that can't really be help and b) it helps with the time. When they make games that balance out differently what happens is rounds take forever. For instance imagine if you could heal or rebuild turrets. Games would last hours because everyone would run back to heal and all the work they did would be for nothing. As frustrating as it is to make a come back one of the things I like about this game is that the games don't really make you suffer. It's not like Starcraft where you'll be losing after 15 minutes and dying for 20.
You do make a fare point. I can't really complain it's a great game and it was free, lol. My Brother is the king of making you suffer, he's OCD nad has aspergis and cannot win a game without ensuring that everything you own, or can be taken is his (this shows most on strategy games where he'll wall in your last remaining unit then procede to harvest every resource on the map, it's best to just go make a coffee). Awesomnauts is still a crazy fun game though, I like the concept too, I havn't seen many side scrolling frag-em-ups.
just finished my third prestige. Good times. 2 more to go. I hate being at the bottom rung again. it feels like I just got dynamite that sticks and I lose it again.
I'll be honest with you, you'll have to explain this whole prestige thing to me? What is it and how does it effect your game? 'Also!' And I've googled this with no joy… When you finish a game and your stats come up, among telling you how many frags and such you have at the end is a little green bar, players always seem to rack up points here and I never do. I thought it was to do with the prestige but I'm sure players of a lower level than me have gained points too? Do you know what it is?
I don't know about other games.. i get the impression it's different in say CoD. But in Awesomenauts Prestige is what happens when you hit the level 45 cap. It doesn't do anything. All it does is you get a little special icon next to your name and you start over at level 1.
It's very frustrating to get all the upper level unlocks and then just lose them to start over.. but I hit 3 Prestige and I only have two more to go. It stops at 5. I think we'll get two more levels with the DLC updates along with the new characters but again it's purely for fun.
I'm not sure what the point bars are for and such. I'm just as mystified as you. We should be able to find out from the official forums.
Here's an interesting fact. I've played 124 or so games online 5 practice games and I'm on my 4th Prestige. The number 2..err he's number 5 player on the leaderboards The_Sick_Puppy has played over 20,000 games. I have no idea how that's possible. it's 10k more than anyone else on the list. It must be cheating or something.
I does sound a little fishy, is he 10k more than those above him? Perhaps he was a tester or one of the designers, I can't imagine why you would cheat to boost the number of games it showed you've played? I wonder if there's a name for that though? The point in many (many) leader boards where the score suddenly jumps to an insane (impossible?) amount then everybody near the top is around about the same number again. I've seen this phenomona before. It's simular to time trial recordings where you have your super low 3 minute+ times then it jumps down to 1 or 2 seconds. (WTF!?!?!)
