PlayStation Plus members get this for free. I snagged it because I loved the original on the Sega Genesis. But this isn't even the full game?? Very disappointed in that. I was ready for the next level and then the credits started to roll... I loved the credits on the original was excited to see that again. Anyway, glad it was free..
Wait.. what? Are you sure about that? It's supposed to be part of the Genesis Collection offered on PSN. We got 2 Sonic games already and this is more from that... did you get the Demo by mistake?
That's so lame.
The worst thing is they advertise it as a full game (since they don't say anything about that), I was about to get it myself.
@Tosh: Mmm, I'll take it for a spin since that's not what we're supposed to get. I still think you didn't download the unlock key hehehe.
How many levels did you do before the credits started?
Ah, I see what the problem is. Bonus stages are counted as stages (see the upper left number on screen) and on some guides sometimes a particular stage is broken up (as is the case with Turtle Village and Addler's Castle). You got the full GENESIS game. Proof of that is the trophies that you unlocked.
This never happened in the game I downloaded from PS+
I was excited for that next part too...
STAGE VI, Death Adder's Court
Three thieves appear at the beginning. Each holds two pots. Get them!
Then it's one red Heninger, one red Longmoan, and General Heartland. After
General Heartland fell, two Skeleton rushes in and Death Adder Junior comes
out. You may use magic here. Hit Junior with the vertical cut when he is
getting powered up for his yellow energy blast! After the fight, you rescue
the pricess and the lord. Then you are requested to enter the castle!
STAGE VII, Inside Death Palace
A purple Heninger and Longmoan appears just before the hole. Try making
them fall into it using the dash attack! A Skeleton will appear from the
other side. This part is VERY tricky! You must make a DASH JUMP to make it
across the hole. Two Skeleton appears. But if you stick to the bottom of
the screen, chances are that they'll fall down the two holes before you even
notice them :) . Now a dark Heninger, Longmoan, and Amazon appears. There
are also holes on both side of the screen. So try to push them off! Now
it's one Skeleton and one dark Amazon. Now a whole bunch of thieves will
appear, followed by a dark Longmoan. After you have had your "Pot-a-mania"
enjoyment, proceed to find two more Skeletons, which can very easily be
pushed off the ledge. Now the statue of bronze Heninger and Longmoan comes
to life. And you know what to do now! Uh oh, two General Bitters!! No
sweat! Push them BOTH down the ledge.
STAGE VIII, The Final Battle
Death Bringer and two Skeletons! Use all the magic that you've got!!! Be
aware that Death Bringer can also use magic too!! Furthermore, the
Skeletons are indestructable. Use the same strategy of Junior on Death
Bringer!! And beware of his special attack, which amplifies energy through
the ground! Use a lot of Specials too. Good Luck!!
Ok, I'm playing right now and up to stage 7 so not much more game left hehehe.
Finished the game. What you put in the spoiler is what is available in the game starting with you arriving in the eagle and on. 3 skeletons insterad of 2 but all is the same. Doing another run for my final 2 trophies and I'm set!
It would be really funny if they released a game with 1/2 the levels missing from the past and said it was free. Like what kid these days is going to remember all the levels from 90s anyway :D
man I couldnt go past the 3rd lvl on my first try :P
Got 100% of all trophies and all levels from the Genesis release are in there. The game considers the bonus levels (the ones where you hit the blue and green thiefs for potions/health) as full levels which is why it could feel like a smaller title. And we used to pay $40-70 for games back in the day!
yea you know all those old games I never really thought about the old prices. Didn't somewhere they retail the 32x games at like 90 bucks? I swear all the norm is 60 today, but there wasn't a system back then. Companies charged whatever the want right :D
