I'm the local MGO (Metal Gear Online) fanatic. I'm a certified MGO Instructor as well. I can train you to be an instructor as well. It's a fun process and I can teach you in the process. I'll even wear my box head for you 😉

Check out all the MGO posts I've done here. Let me know if you have any questions. I still play all the time.

Metal Gear Online and MGS4 are totally separate games. You'll need to sign up for a Konami ID to play MGO, you can sign up for it here. They when you sign into MGO it will ask for it, but just have it always remember your password then you'll never need to enter it again on that PS3.

An instructor is just a game type where you can practice under the guidance of a skilled MGO player. People play it online a lot, even 2 years later. One of the main lobbies hold 950 max and off and on it's totally full!

Let me know when your ready for your Instructor session and I'll show you some stuff, bring a mic if you have one.

I loved MGS 4, but MGO was hard for me to play. I played for a while when it was released, but there was way too much griefing going on for my tastes. My biggest problem was with team members who decided it would be fun to choke out other team members.

You can't actually choke out your teammates anymore. Maybe a rare user created game will allow it, but for the most part that's a thing of the past. I'm meeting up with Adam T at 5 PM MT today if you want to join us for some MGO.

I may have to check it out again in that case. I played in the beta and for a few weeks after it was released. I could definitely see the possibility for some awesome matches.

I've had the game laying around for a while and i had left it on the backburner while i got through other games. I did play it when i got it, but the different between it and the last mgs game that i played with was mgs 2 on the ps2 was so much for me that i just hated the game and move on to other ones. The main problem was the rader, i was used to a detialed map where i could see the buildings and bascilly steath my way about by using that for refence and the whole soild eye thing just purplexed me, i remember that it took me ages to get through the first section i was spotted all the time and i must of only played 5 mins of south america and gave up back then.

I brought mgs 1 from the psn store recently and i thought that i would give mgs 4 another go but this time i would lern how to use the equiment propaly and i am being as stealthy as possible, trying to not been seen by anyone. I am differnetly enjoying the game a lot more now, i finally get the soldeye and for me now this is the best metal gear game ever. I can't wait for metal gear rising. I am in eastern eurpoe in the game now and i have just watched that mind blowing fmv with raidien, the mini metal gear things and vamp omg how epic was that i love the breakdaning parts!

This game is the reason I bought a PS3. I have been in love with the MGS series ever since I played the first one more than 10 years ago! When you return to Shadow Moses island, that to me is one of the best moments in gaming. You feel the same nostalgia that Snake feels. As someone mentioned earlier, the part towards the end where Snake is crawling through the microwaves is one of the most epic moments in a video game I have ever seen. lol In case you couldn't tell, I'm a huge mark for MGS.
