Was having this problem for a while and then discovered I could play MW3 to my hearts content in single player mode. So it turns out it's an IP conflict.

Go an reset your network setting. Then it started to work fine.

No need for annoying hardware upgrade/fixes.

I blame it on a rogue...

Being that PS3 RAM is so small in size.
Being that the RAM is soldered to the motherboard.
Being that there isn't much of a heat sink, which by the way has a gap so air traps heat.
Saying this, I'm thinking that all these patches for the online games,
blocking all the glitches...
