For a while PS3 exclusives have lacked major Ladders for both Online and Live events. Killzone is one of the few games that actually has online ladder support by MLG. Resistance 2 had one ladder in the first few months of the game, and after that, it died out.
Resistance 3 should have full out MLG support for both Live and Online competitions, that have major cash prizes. ( And should definitely be supported to the fullest) Sorry for using and comparing games, especially to an XBOX exclusive. But Halo has had its big live events along with its large online ladders, with hundreds of thousands of dollars as cash price. Halo and Resistance are very similar. Well at least the first 2 Resistance games were, in mechanics and gameplay style.
Now that Resistance 3's player count has dropped to 16, I find it possible for insomniac games to think about it, and make arrangements with MLG. This would also bring more attention and attraction to the Resistance Franchise. And also make PlayStation 3 seem a more of Competitive console, than just a casual console that all the 360 players think of it as.
Just let me know what your opinions are on this topic?
Do you agree with I am saying? Or do you totally disagree?
Or are you sketchy on the topic?
Side Note- excuse my grammar mistakes, and if I don't make much sense in certain areas, please forgive that too. Very late at night haha.
NEWB here.. what is MLG? lol
MLG stands for Major League Gaming and is a huge competitive video game association that sponsors extremely competitive video game tournaments across the nation. Basically it is where all serious players head to for playing in tournaments and ladders and what not. There is usually cash prizes. For Halo there were live events where more than 50 teams of 4 would compete against each other for the title of best team/clan/group along with a cash prize of $100,000. COD has similar ladders where the cash prize is $25,000. Killzone also has it, but its not big.
Resistance 2 had a online ladder for $25,000 in when it released. After that there wasn't one. And also I am not sure if it was a singles(1v1) ladder doubles(2v2) or group. But yea I want to see Resistance 3 go big with it. Like I no lie I am one of the top players in Resistance. That is my FPS multiplayer root. I grew up with it you could say. And I have a team of 20 that destroy every other team. So yea. MLG for R3 could be a big break for many Resistance fans and the fans/players that are actually good at it. If R3 make into MLG it could end up bringing popularity to the Franchise, and PlayStation competitive side as well.
