Noticed that about the game. It's not a "wow, look at what the Vita can do!" showcase.

nah it really doesn't. Looks like it could be fun, but def not great looking. We know what the Vita is capable of…just look at Uncharted.

Some new Wipeout 2048 info.

Set just 37 years into the future, Wipeout 2048 is meant to serve as “Season 1 start” for the series, according to Graeme Ankers and Stuart Tilley of Sony’s Liverpool Studio. Since it represents the very beginning of Anti-Gravity racing, the game’s art is meant to be halfway between present-day architecture and the futuristic style that one usually sees in a Wipeout game.

One of the ways this is being implemented is through the use of height. The higher you are vertically on a particular track, the more you’ll see its futuristic architecture. As you go lower, the scenery will be more representative of present-day.

Changes are being made to Wipeout 2048’s weapons as well. There will now be two types of weapons pads, yellow and green. Yellow pads will equip you with offensive weapons focused on taking out racers ahead of you, while green will provide defensive weapons such as mines and turbos, to help you maintain your lead.

One of the new defensive weapons in the game is a modified shield. The shield will now activate automatically when an opponent fires at you. Amongst the new offensive weaponry is a new form of the Shockwave.

Wipeout 2048 also has an online campaign. When you participate in online races against other players, each player be given secondary objectives, such as taking out a particular racer or getting a top-three finish. You’ll also be able to gift challenges to friends for them to complete, using the Vita’s online services.
