Sooo, only 3-5 hours AND it takes 2 and a half hours to charge?

I have a post about the battery life coming up soon. It's informative. Besides the 3DS is 4-6 hours of gameplay with 3.5 hours to fully recharge.
Neither of the images above are pictures. They are Sony's rendering. There are some obvious D-pad differences to start. I believe the buttons are a tad smaller than the newer one. The OS image is much more crisp and colorful.

I have a 3DS and I can assure you it does not take 3.5 hours to fully recharge.

I had one and I can assure you that it does lol. That is also Nintendo's official spec sheet info.

Actually Eddie... Nintendo might have done something to the battery with newer models. My sister bought a red one two weeks ago and it takes 2 hours to charge from fully depleted to 100% by leaving it in the cradle.

Downloadable versions will be cheaper than physical games Japan has listed prices to many games showing a discount when purchasing the game as a downloadable title. Katamari for example is ¥4,980 but will be selling for ¥4,480 on PSN. Uncharted, Ridge Racer and several others will be following this. Its about a $10 difference.

Sony working on a way to download UMD PSP games.

Team Ninja is looking into NG3 playstyles for Sigma Vita

That's great news! It's how it should have been during this generation as not having to print a box, manual and disc AND ship it to retailers SHOULD have reduced the cost for us of digital releases. Interesting way to get lots of sales right from the start.

As for the UMD PSP Games... that one will be a headache for Sony. They'll charge UMD owners to download the games they've already paid for? And how much? How will they know we own the games and didn't borrow from a friend to get them at a cheap price?

just hope it wont cost too much, as Kotaku estimated 59.99 is not good for me :(

Uncharted and all "AAA" games will probably go for $59.99 since you're getting a "PS3 game on the go". Prices will probably be between $30-60 depending on the release and the US might get a discount on digital releases vs retail releases as well.

They will not be going for $59 period. If you do direct conversions and not taking in account for the weak american dollar, sure they will seem $60. They will be $40. Worst case scenario, $40 for download, $50 for physical copy.

"Sony put up there 'Hyper' magazine from TGS online a little while ago, and per some earlier mutterings, it does indeed seem to confirm universal screenshot functionality. You press the PS button + START to capture a screenshot at any time."

Vita sold out on every major Japanese retailer website in 25 minutes since pre-orders just went live. They crashed Amazon.jp for a while. The 32 gig Vita card is holding the number 1 spot on the video game section on Amazon now.

3G version is the most popular already confirmed for Japan.....

over 1200 people lined up at Akihabara Yodabashi Camera Coincidently, around the same amount was reported for the PSP and PS3 launches.

3DS has around 260 people lined up at pre-order launch (obviously its doing much better now)

Let's wait until final numbers are in. Different markets for both systems means different pre-order patterns. Still need no find out how much stock Sony will have on launch day since that IS guaranteed to be sold on said day alone.

Rumor is 500k stock. And it's not guaranteed to sell through. 3DS didn't sell through in any territory.

65% of PlayStation Vita reservations on the first day were for the 3G model. The other 35% were for the Wi-Fi version, that means the 3G version sold nearly 2:1. 82% of people bought a memory stick and 72% picked up one with 32GB of storage.

Amazon Japan and Yodobashi are out of stock. Sofmap, Bic Camera and Joshin have also sold out. Only smaller stores seem to have any at all.

what makes the 3G version so appealing like that? From what we know so far surely the WIFI one is a better choice right?

The first 500k sold or something get like 500 free minutes. Can't remember the actual numbers but its pretty big.
