So far, all numbers are what we were expecting. Vita at 350k day 1 then? It all depends on how many they shipped for the Wi-Fi model and how many for the 3G. Tie Ratio is reaaaaally low. Only one game per system? Are they already trying to hack the portable?

About 350k for the first day or two. and the tie ratio is amazingly high for a launch system…. 3DS still isn't at a 1:1 yet…

In fact two day sales numbers are in.

321K Vita sold first 2 days in Japan #1
http://www.famitsu.com/news/201112/20007379.html

for comparison (2 Days)

PSP sold 166K
3DS sold 371K

Not bad considering the 3DS just sold 400+k in the same week due to MH3G.

Nice sales for the Vita… but I do have to say I'm a tad disappointed. For a huge, hyped launch during the holidays (granted, Christmas in Japan is not the same as over here) I was expecting 2 day sales at 400k+. Let's wait for the full week sales as maybe Sony had a problem with allocating stock to several stores.

Now, when it's $149.99 in 3 years, you can count on my purchase!

324k sales is just fine on a week it had to go against Monster Hunter on the 3DS. Chances are they shipped too many 3G versions that people don't really want to pay for. Puts it in the top 5 or 6 openings of all times.

You also have to remember that EVERY game is downloadable so retail software penetration WILL be lower than normal.

Yep, still good numbers but lower than the 3DS. I think you're right, Sony over estimated the demand for the 3G model. Hope sales pick up as competition always bring the best in everyone. Now, about those Vita memory card prices…

Wait, so Little Deviants and reality fighters are Gamestop exclusives? They've been getting a lot of those lately.

Two knew apps are getting released for the Vita.

Wake-up Club which is an alarm clock service that runs in the background and can interrupt your usage/gaming if you want it to.

Picture Park which is a fancier version of the the DS/3DS Pictochat.

Also looks like Gundam Seed Destiny is being developed for the Vita according to Famitsu.

Gravity Daze Demo

That demo looks really, really nice.

@Eddie: Sony under-estimated the demand for VITA and now it's sold out everywhere and, of course, week 2 sales are waaaaaaaay down. Any thoughts on that?

High price, few Japanese geared titles, heavy competition from major titles on the 3DS.

Its needs a Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest for Japan and Call of Duty for North America is pretty much the bottom line to sell at its current price. I think it will sell well in Euro-land due to a top notch Fifa game.

While I think it has the best launch line-up of all time, nothing in there is a AAA absolutely much have type of title with the exception of maybe Uncharted.
