Ok, getting my terms mixed and the Retail Beard approves hahaha. What I meant is that it's two games bundled together. If it's the PS3 retail edition and a code to download the Vita version that COULD lower costs but if it's a PS3 Bluray and a Vita Fun Stick there's no way that will retail for less than $80.

Why? The physical card costs all of .79 to manufacture....

It has zero do to do with the pricing. The development costs dictate pricing structure. Since there is little to no difference in developing a game for the PS3 alone or developer a game for the PS3 and Vita, it results in limited pricing structure change.

Besides...if they charge full price for both games...it will fail. If they charge more money then the cost of a PS3 game, it will fail. Don't need to be an analyst to know this. So it goes without saying that the cost will be $60 or less.

Let's do a small points bet (which Tosh can help us with once the time comes), shall we? 1,000 points says that it will be $60 or more for the PS3/VITA bundle. You in? ninja

I'd bet all of my points on that. The mistake is believing these games are full fledged PS3 games. While playable on the PS3, these are not AAA budget titles. Ruin looks like a very basic concept game itself.

Hahaha, let's keep it simple and go with the 1,000 points bet. Just say yes and we're good to go!

And those Uncharted screens is how you sell a new portable that is supposed to be as strong as the PS3.. with screens that let's us see what can be done AT LAUNCH. Now the Resistance Vita game knows that it needs to step up.

Hope they all release since the first 6 months of sales dictate if games are canceled, placed on hold or they continue to work on them. Sony dropped the ball this year by not launching in the US or Europe BEFORE Japan since they're the bigger markets and ones that would respond better to the $250 price tag and the "PS3 in your hand" idea... unless there's going to be a Monster Hunter game day 1 in Japan?

If you remember the poll I posted a while ago...the majority of Japan are more intersted in the Vita than they are the Wii U. It's quite popular there already. It may have to do more with who has games ready for it first.

There's a Wipeout 2048 interview here:

http://www.theaveragegamer.com/2011/...combat-racing/

Talks about how they're using near, some of the technical stuff. Nicely anti-aliased shadowing techniques are apparently easier/more efficient on Vita vs PS3.

With Near you'll be able to drop a challenge somewhere with near, and let others pick it up as they pass and try to beat it. You'll be able to see how many played your challenge, compare times etc. Also be able to gift AR museum unlocks.

Photo mode is in there with the same effects as the PS3 version. They're also listening out for any great ideas for weapons on their facebook and twitter pages apparentl

Yep. Now that Dragon Quest X has been announced as a Wii U title (probably a launch one) things are starting to shape up for the next Nintendo console.

Vita has a LOT of support for developers but there's three reasons I'm not getting one at launch:

a) 100+ games on my backlog as is.

b) Wii U launch purchase.

c) Will wait for a drop to $179

The portable itself seems good enough feature-wise and the games library will be there in 3 years when I make my purchase. Since it's not BC with UMDs that will also stop me from getting one sooner.

lol terms like "good enough feature wise" is silly. It has the BEST features of any dedicated handheld device before it. So therefore its features are amazing unless you consider all other handheld feature crappy.

Also Wii U is not shaping into anything yet. In fact...all news as of lately has been rather negative. Only one controller, rumored hardware downgrade, single touch screen, analog nubs instead of sticks, developers claiming problems with the SDK's, and so on.

Wii U can support up to 4 controllers at the same time and more when Wiimotes are involvedd. Only one controller included in the box and they're considering what the pricing will be for the controller at retail (I'm thinking $89.99). The nubs we've know about since E3 and all developers are working with the old kits and will get new ones by the end of the month.

You're talking to the Resident Nintendo Nutjob here. I'll be buying the Wii U at launch even if the only game available for two is Wii Sports 2 hahaha.

Oh, btw. What happened to the Vita pre-orders number you would be posting around here? Would make for an interesting "this is how much the 3DS had in pre-orders/this is how much the Vita has in pre-orders" post.

It can only control up to 1 tablet controller. Iwata himself said its possible to add a 2nd, but you would have to sacrifice online to do so since the tablets use 802.11 to communicate in part with the console itself. It will support more wii-motes but those are bluetooth only controllers.

And the Gamestop PR lady refuses to respond to me anymore. The last email she sent was "I'll have something for you tomorrow" and I've replied 5 times since then and she will not respond. FYI its the same lady that made the public announcement how Gamestop is removing the Deux Ex Onlive coupons from each case.

"Nintendo's Satoru Iwata
recently said in an interview that games enlisting more than one Wii U
controller aren't being considered just yet -- although they are possible. Our very own Ittousai tells us that Iwata told Diamond Online that the Wii U can
technically support multiple screen-controllers,
but that additional
slabs would be too expensive to sell on their own. Iwata went on to say
that the console would ship with only one, and that game developers
should design titles under the assumption that each console will use a
single Wii U controller."

Right now it's a cost issue with Nintendo being conservative and thinking that  people would not want to spend more $$$ on a second controller (this from the company that sells us the Wii Balance Board!). They'll eventually do so as split screen FPS would greatly benefit from having the extra info on the controller itself and free up screen space.

As for the Gamestop lady... maybe she got fired or moved on? Weird how someone responds to emails for a bit and then disappears. Hate that!

It's more of keeping the cost of the console down which Nintendo is having a hard time with. With the current specs...the console would easily cost $400+ even in a years time. Since these tablets use the 802.11, they would have to have multiple recievers built into the console to support them and that is costly.

And nah..she still works at Gamestop...just refuses to answer now for some reason.
