Anyone else read these books? Or The Infernal Devices? (prequels) One of my favorite series of books since the Eragon books, actually looking forward to the movie.

alright so I started these a while back. I'm four books in. one more to go of TMI trilogy.

Good lord are teenage girls idiots. I'm talking about in real life.

In the book Clary is an idiot for entirely different reasons. This book is definitely no challenger to Hunger Games or Divergent. I mean there are great ideas behind it but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.

Now obviously my biggest complaint is the love triangle. I understand that the way to true love needs to be block. But blocking that love with incest and then pushing that incestuous love for THREE BOOKS is unconscionable. I've been on GoodReads trying to explain that to (what is obviously a forum full of) teenage girls and they just don't get it.

**SPOILERS** - http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1318455...

Simon the jilted friendzoned friend is the most interesting character and the way the (third? or Fourth?) book tends to focus almost entirely on him was my favorite parts of the series so far.

I got so frustrated I'm rereading the series from the start to see if maybe it was this broken from the start. You can see my progress here

I like your thoughts on Clary and Jaces relationship Wolfkin, I was so uncomfortable reading parts where they were about to kiss knowing they were brother and sister. Felt like I was reading 50 Shades of Grey. I've read all the books except for the third in the ID trilogy, the books in the MI series really don't lose their touch, still loved the last one almost as much as I loved the first one.
