Eight out of nine Webmasters agree that over reaching promotes site decay.

We've got A LOT of registered users but around 40-50 that comment. Several visit the site daily but are post-shy haha.

in front of my eyelids when I closed them to make up a statistic. You may not know this but 92% of statistics aren't based on fact and 70% of them aren't based on any amount of research. (including this one) ^_^

Ooo I like that!  Like donate tons of points for the short run it does nothing, but later on it's like great investment :P  That would be quite a pickle on deciding how you throw points around.  I'd love a test program at least :D

You know speaking of that though, I dont know how you could track it, but since wolf says we have tons of users that never post, maybe you could do on a giveaway a "first week double points" promo or something?  Again would have to be careful with same IP people, then again if you get 2 different names for same address you know they're bsing, but I think it would be nice.

Or something like Get friends to the site and get points for winner and new buddies.  Like a video proof or something.

If the site really needs money that badly, then buying points would be fine–but unless the site is *really* in desperate need, it just seems tacky.  I seem to be in the minority, but I just don't view this as necessary.  People that don't post regularly are probably not going to start posting regularly any time soon, and the people that would buy points are probably the same people that would donate if the site were in need anyways.
