I agree it looks funny and I’m gonna put my money on it having more to it than is shown in the trailer unlike some other terrible films of late. For the writers this is their first screenplay for a big budget film. Their only other big project w/regards to writing was Eastbound & Down to date so it’ll be interesting, for me anyway, to see what they came up with. As for the director, David Gordon Green isn’t fantastic or anything but he has done some decent stuff in the past.
Comedies always were probably criticised the most. It’s not often you see one win any prestigious awards. But few ever ask for people to take seriously. They’re usually just just for a laugh.

Def a movie that can’t be taken seriously. Pineapple Express did really good, and I love slapstick, but I didn’t care for it at all. So who knows about this..

I like to think of it as deadpan meets slapstick. Deadpan Slapstick. Say it really fast dead-spastic. Or it could just be stoner comedy. The only humour I don’t really like is on the far-gone darkside. That stuff is usually just messed up imho.
