Clint commented on the post, [Girlfriend Review] BioShock: Infinite + BioShock 1 month, 2 weeks ago
@darrin – Primarily because Infinite came with the original BioShock. Since BioShock 2 wasn’t done by Irrational I decided to pass it over. I’ve heard plenty of arguments from fans of the series that 2 can be […]

@darrin, i think the major difference with the 360, is earlier in the lifecycle, most people bought disc based games, and i’d argue most 360 users still do. the 360 actually comes shipped with a HD , all models […]

@Darrin: It definitely hurts sales. When your portable NEEDS memory cards to function (saves, apps, new games, etc.), and you price them so high, there is bound to be some consumers that skip your product until […]

EdEN commented on the post, OpEd: The Vita What went Right and what went Wrong 3 months, 3 weeks ago
@Darrin: The Proprietary memory cards definitely hurt the Vita. $30 or less can get you a 32 GB SDHC card, and a Vita memory card is more expensive and offers less space. Nintendo did it right with SDHC cards […]

@Darrin: Sorry, should have been more clear. I simply meant the Vita itself.

@darrin oh it’s shorthand. i guess I’m pretty successful at avoiding 3D stuff. never seen it shortened like that before. I just assumed he meant some sort of 3D sound.

@Darrin: WHAT? Don’t know on what TV you played Brawl, but at 480p it looks great on a 40″ 1080p LCD. Sony’s franchises are too young, and they don’t have that many. Not feeling the GoW or LBP stages, for example.

I completely disagree @Darrin I think numbers reflect release chronology not the internal one. Calling this GoW4 wouldn’t be inaccurate form a fictional narrative.. calling it the fourth GoW game might be though.

@Darrin, how is that any different than any other language? Just replace x with y. Rails/PHP to MySql/Postgres/Mongo on AWS/Heruko/etc. Have you even tried the latest version of Visual Studio? There have been alternatives that you were free to choose from (NUnit, xUnit, NAnt, Castle MVC, etc.). There are package managers galore now for managing…[Read more]

EdEN commented on the blog post Is Console Gaming about to go Portable? 1 year, 9 months ago
@Darrin: Yep, to PS3 an 360 is not that huge of a jump (maybe Dreamcast like as was the case at its time), but from the Wii to Wii U it iS a 5x increase. Now for the Vita, it has to compete with the DS, the 3DS and, analysts say, the iOS phones/MP3 player/huge not [...]

@Darrin, I’m not saying shooters and sequels are bad, I personally am not very fond of shooters, but I’m having a great time with Borderlands and I’ve loved many sequels as well. Fallout New Vegas (which is half shooter) is a title I loved (I even platinum’ed it with 150+ hours put into it) but I [...]

@Darrin: Haven’t played Patapon 2 that much (weird since I’ve owned it for 6 months hahaha) but what I’ve played of it makes me think that part 2 is a bit more “lighhearted and straightforward” than part 3. All the customization, experience gaining, ka-ching obtaining, treasure chest hunitng adventures of Patapon 3 makes it a more [...]

@Darrin The demand is real, but I’m a bit skeptical about things like this. I mean, how big is the gaming industry for sub-handheld (it’ll be at the time of NGP either way, possible 3DS is also superior) quality games? I just don’t see many developers investing a lot of money into this thing, when some [...]

For what it’s worth, there’s a sizeable or at least vocal elite cadre of MAG players who swear that the Move is the only way to play the game, once the thing is properly calibrated and its options configured. I had a terrible time using the Move in MAG, but as @Darrin intimates, it’s probably something [...]

@Darrin: Sounds to me like you didn’t configure the dead zone box to better fit this peripheral. After years of playing FPS games with a pointer (thank you Wii!) I can tell you that if KZ3, like Red Steel 2 and Metroid Prime 3 (and Trilogy), allows for a lot of customization options such as aiming [...]
